How many miles should I get out of Michelin CrossClimates (and/or other tyres)?
Damn difficult in a FWD car to reduce oversteer if you get into a corner too quick and there is no grip traction at the front end and you are going straight into a wall, fence, hedge ditch or if lucky through an open gate. Good tyres all around is just 'simply clever' Not all are driving gods so even know what under or oversteer is, and those with ESP and good tyres might not even be aware the car is helping keep them on the road.

Is Dacia the new Skoda?

The story of the famous DQ200 clutch slip...
@match14 They certainly seem to not be using the letter 'E' or 'e' as they were going to, but then the e-Tech does not move off the same as with the ICE. Maybe due to Renault getting their e-Techs Hybrids out. With the VW Group / Skoda It is as when they were in the GTE. Any issues that the DQ200 have in the 1.5TSI should be gone when a Mild Hybrid.. Renault. VW. In North America & Australia VW Jetta & Skoda Karoq got the 1.4TSI with 8 speed TQ Auto's. so no idea what these Jetta are that got e-DQ200's. Maybe they never did, but VW Group did speak of DQ200-e's. *Maybe someone had too many e.s. My error, It was the DQ400e in the from 2016 GTE's & the Audi, Plug in Hybrids

The story of the famous DQ200 clutch slip...
The Mild Hybrids do have the e-DQ200 or DQ200-E. Anyone buying a new car should expect the DQ200 DSG's to be all fixed and reliable after all VW Group have tried, tried and tried again since 2012 and the world wide recall excluding Europe. Then the WLTP reared it's ugly head and then they used DQ200's with 1.5 TSI's and messed about to get low C02 under testing. The DQ200 will be in the Fabia Mk4 so they really need to have got their act together. Plenty of practice at the customers expense in thousands or hundred of thousand of cases. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496398-dsg-shudder-low-rpm Little point asking Sales People about DQ200 DSG's as there have never ever been an issue, just overblown on the internet and forums.

DSG shudder low rpm
They have updated the DQ200 Software lots, this issue is Engine Management Software & DSG Software to get the emissions that were required for the WLTP. There were DQ200's used in 48 applications in various VW Group Models when Skoda built the factory bigger to produce them. 2012 and the World Wide Recall excluding Europe which got a Service Campaign from 2014 '34F7' was not just 1.2 TSI's, it was also 1.4 & 1.8 TSI's and 1.6 TDI's. Synthetic oil changed to mineral & a Software update, and in New Zealand all the models with a DQ200 got a New Mechatronic Control Unit. Then 2013-2015 there was another Service Campaign '34H5'. Then there are the TPI's covering ones from 2014/15 for Software updates & uprated Clutch Packs. Then in Australia in 2019 yet another Recall yet again covering the 2009-2016. So Vorsprung Durch Technik was forgotten by VW Group until now there is the e-DQ200 for the Mild Hybrids. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip/page/14

Delivery times?
@SurreyJohn,s friend should be able to explain exactly how the figures work out. There was a clampdown on abuse. Supposedly. So private use of Demonstraters and Trade Vehicles has rules and a price to pay now. http://desperateseller.co.uk/articles/artdblqqxgsf/ex-demo-vs-prereg:-the-differences http://thebestcarfinanceblog.co.uk/6578-2/

How many miles should I get out of Michelin CrossClimates (and/or other tyres)?
I ran 185/60 R 14 Avon Ice Touring in a Kia Picanto Kia Automatic all year which was only around 5,000 miles at the most but more of each years miles was winter time and they did over 20,000 miles and were still good when the car left me.
-
Delivery times?
Much more profit for the Dealership thanks to the HMRC / Tax Payers from a Demonstrator they have for 3 months / 3,000 miles then sell Used.

Sudden noisy engine (1.6 TDI)
Dundee Skoda specialist cars part of the John Clark group is the best of the others which are also John Clark group in Aberdeen and Perth IMHO / IME. Best is Victoria Garage Maud, north of Aberdeen. Proper technicians / mechanics with all the gear and more than ideas like replacing parts. A proper Skoda Garage. EDIT. Always worth calling them, they are very helpful. They know what they are talking about.

What type of tyres are fitted as standard on Enyaq
What i mean is we know if we select tyre types but VW group / Skoda use terms that tyre suppliers and us might not use. We know what we want and if 3 peak markings. VW Group / Skoda UK know damn well many will be driving company cars or leased cars in the UK and not want to change tyres for suitable in winter but they import cars on Summer tyres. Not even offering a low cost upgrade option that other manufacturers do.
-
What type of tyres are fitted as standard on Enyaq
I think we all know what we want fitted if buying All Seasons or All Weather tyres. Well they do not have All Season as in they are going to be on all year and in All Weathers unless you change them, They are not CrossClimate type with Summer Bias but 3 peak tyres / winter certified. Then they are not 'All Terrain', but VW Group happily call Models SUV's regardless of FWD or AWD & with ICE ones will fit stuff like Bridgestone Duellers which are pretty crap as soon as there is moisture on roads, and as far as venturing onto a area with just mowed grass then they show what a poor choice they are for OEM. But what are fitted are All Season as the come to the UK, Summer Tyres that many might have on all year and performing poorly in the cold / snow. Skoda did show a 'All Season Option' on Octavia's a few years back. 2017 The use of words / terms seemed to get lost in translation. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/440953-factory-fit-all-season-tyres When i am being called an Idiot i am one that has 'All Weather' or Winter tyres on my cars all year round, through all the seasons. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/423163-are-all-weather-tyres-winter-legal-in-eu See post by @ARWENon 27th Jan 2017. Then 14th Jan 2018. Anyone that paid for the All Season / All Weather option back then can maybe say what tyres their car did come with fitted.

Oil level warning
Dipping oil stone cold and knowing where the oil is before starting a car and driving anyplace is just common sense. But you need to know the level when the car has the correct quantity of oil in at a service or brand new and after has been up to operating temp and then when you know that you can check again when cold and the oil is back in the sump and if the level shows different or not. With the Oil filters on the top of the engine it might well show differently. You would expect the oil back in the sump to show higher on the dipstick. Area A is the flat bit above the cross hatch & some models with say 3.6 litres oil can be 1.3 litres low before a Low Oil warning shows, maybe a Low oil pressure will come up sooner.

Skoda Enyaq - What Spec & Add ons?
Style over practicality with wheels. Scraped and scuffed and corroding wheels are not just one of those things they look guff Below 15%. Really. .

3 pin charging cable for occasional use
If you have no home charger or charger available when away visiting they are good for having the battery charged up before setting off and the cars interior heated and the glass deiced.

Software Update Recall/Campaigns
Any that are part of this Recall that the DVLA have on the website should have had the Registered Keeper informed as it is counted as Safety Critical and not a Service Campaign or Recall Action like those that Skoda / VW like on a 'need to know basis', and somehow they think it is none of the drivers business, as is stuff getting done to their car. Well Data Protection does not cover it and the cars are owned by owners, maybe VW Finance are the owner, but that does not mean Drivers are not responsible for the cars safety. Skoda Secret Service Service Campaigns. Loose lips sinks ships, cost lives!

Software Update Recall/Campaigns
If you are in the UK then maybe get Skoda UK on the case with their Recall Action Checker if your car is not coming up. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

DSG shudder low rpm
Bob Flavin gave Skoda / VW notice of the issues, as did many many owners like in the Karoq section. But VW Group / Skoda denied denied and denied again there were any issues, then they did software updates and another software update and as far as they are concerned it is a 'Driver error', not a VW coc-kup.

Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
The 1.2 TSI (or the 1.0) did not have ACT & the 1.0 e-Tec & 1.5 e-Tec are a whole new kettle of fish with mild hybrid and VW have the e-DQ200 DSG for them. So really apples and pears comparing how a 1.5 TSI Manual is with a 1.5 TSI with DSG. Then the e-Tec are a Red Herring. All have different software for engines and DSG's. On the early 1.5 TSI with the bad Engine Management / Mapping it a took long enough time for VW to admit issues and many said their ones with a DSG had no issues, obviously the ones that did have issues eventually had VW accept the issue was not only with manuals. The VW Group default mode is deny deny and deny again. Skoda / VW Group should pay attention to Bob or Thomas when they give them notice of issues. They drive like real customers will and not like the Factory Test Drivers. Or a WLTP being carried out.

Weird score lines (from knife?) under rear window causing rust spots
The warranty T&C's and Exclusions are clear enough and the corrosion shown is not covered as not a perforation. Not that that has meant anything in the past. Also clearly the paint is not as it left the factory, or as should have been done by an Authorised Repairer, so it will need to be a job that needs paying to have done.

Bio Fuel - Effect on fuel economy
REVO and APR have given the 98 Ron bit and when you ask their dealers where they get 98 Ron in the UK they can not answer that since it stopped being sold by BP and Shell. BP is 97 Ron min and Shell is 99 Ron min and sometimes better when it has come from continental Europe and can be 100 Ron. All academic anyway if the cars can do better than the manufacturer's figures just on 95 Ron. You do notice the difference though on the ones VW put out of the factory with a recommended 98 on the fuel filler flap as @lol-lolwas posting about.
-
Bio Fuel - Effect on fuel economy
@stever750 You have been talking about remapping your car, have you tried using the 99 ron min from Tesco and did you notice any difference? IMO it is worth the extra £2.50 or so a tank over the 95 ron even if it does not give even 1 MPG better economy.
