  1. It will still spin the wheels and will not be in 2nd when moved to manual and put in 2nd.. In the owners manual it tell you to put off the TC to get moving when stuck in snow to get back and fore. If there is no TC button you can not switch it off. If the tyres are not any good for use in mud then you have spinning tyres.
  2. Is it your car that you parked up 15 months ago & was it running fine back then? So is the 15 month old petrol sitting in there. How much in the tank? ? How long was it started for 2-3 days ago and did it get moved / driven. You are going to need to be sure the immobiliser is not an issue, & no main fuse blown. ? Did you personally put in the spark plugs, and change the fuel filter and the Fuel Pump? EDIT. PS, Have you looked in the airfilter box to see what is in there?
  3. Actually basically the use of a DQ200 DSG is pretty much the same with any petrol or diesel engine no matter the power. Some will obviously go quicker as you floor the accelerator. The RPM's might be different in D or S, and the manual shifts. There is still the choice of how how drive to suit your needs, wants or road / location, and using the shifter, kickdown, double kickdown or paddles if you have them.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Are you trying to start it with a fully charged battery?
  5. @Brucemagoose511Sorry to burst your bubble seeing as your Mk2 Fabia vRS has expired but there are not the issues that required a world wide recall on the DQ200's from 2009-2012 and for Europe the Service Campaign, then the next service campaign from 2013-2015 for some. There are issues for some from 2014-now. So time will tell if all DQ200's are issue free now when they get to 5 years old or so. If buying new and keeping the car then maybe get the extended warranty before the car is first registered. If buying used get a good length of a road test and check the Service & Warranty History. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/439395-the-story-of-the-famous-dq200-clutch-slip/page-14
  6. P1sses me off just how often on here and elsewhere i have heard of low compression with cylinder 3 and a new engine needed. There are some that have actually had burned valves and even broken piston rings, and there are some that are absolutely fine with no issues once dealt with by someone that knows their arse from their elbow. Here is a Cylinder 2 one. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/340296-fabia-vrs-engine-failed-loss-of-compression-cyl-2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/360862-major-fabia-vrs-tsi-cave-engine-issue http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474204-fabia-vrs-mk2-compression-test This covers lots, valves, head, squirters and the sharks at Skoda. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/426905-2013-vrs-dead-any-advice
  7. The Important clause is about known faults. That is in the T&C's. They will sell you the Warranty then blow you off saying there were known faults. It was Skoda / VW / Audi / SEAT that knew of the faults and sell the cars and sell the extended warranty funnily. I can find many members that had the issues with a Skoda Approved Used Warranty as was with Car Care Ltd or with the latest version. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481621-extended-warranty http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/440772-nightmare-fabia-vrs-engine-replacement-needed http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446957-extended-warranty-worth-it
  8. If someone makes counterfeit goods any place in the world like oils, then the bottles will not be tampered with they look like the real thing. It is 2021 after all. No dodgy spelling mistakes. Even from a trusted seller some dodgy employee can put snide goods among the genuine stock and flog the good stuff they pinch and pocket the money.
  9. https://insurewithskoda.co.uk/extended-warranty The T&C's and exclusions are there.
  10. Welcome to the forum. I will not tell you where to get Kamiq Body panels incase i want some. But then my Google might be different from yours. skoda kamiq body panels uk just typed in as a search and there is a front right hand drive car drivers doors.
  11. Going to a Taxi Rank and asking a driver there where they get the car serviced is sometimes all that is needed. That would be the driver of a Skoda and not one with a Toyota.
  12. Aston Martin are as British as MINI, Bentley or Jaguar Land Rover so why is it anything to do with Boris?
  13. @shyVRS245 BlackCircles quote £680.56 fitted, but then Michelin owns BlackCircle.
  14. Actually there is a good reason to put it in N and apply the parking brake if sitting in traffic, at roadworks etc for a while and not moving. The UK Highway code and respect for those behind that do not need to sit behind you with your brake lights on. There is this option with the Fabia and other Skoda's with a manual parking (hand) Brake, sadly with some with Auto Hold, or even just an E-Brake the Brake Lights go on. Not with all though, and there are many drivers that have no idea if the brake lights are on or not with 'Autohold'.
  15. Sometimes they train Guide Dogs for the stupid especially for English People that know the price of somethings and the value of little. I know of a Kwik Fit or 3 with mechanics that works in them. But there is no guaranteed to be the one working on your car. You could get the one that drains the oil, wipes clean the oil filter that did not get changed then puts a dirty mark on it. A kick in the balls does give then something to think about though. Some Kwik Fit are now Tyre City. If you have a Mobility Car you still need to use Kwik Fit or Tyre City for tyres, or tracking, but they will not do the tracking, they will just fit tyres if they can get away with it, saying tracking being off is not a safety issue. You see some things that happen that are unbelievable if you hang around long enough at a Tyre & Exhaust Fitting Centre..
  16. Welcome. You do not say the cars age or mileage. There is no advantage of going to a Skoda Main Dealer over a VW Group Independent that will do the work and not just charge for doing it even if they do not. Personally i would not put my car to Kwik Fit even if they were paying me £100 to let them do the service.
  17. @Westbury63 I have no problems driving and using a gear shifter, parking brake, indicator stalk, radio, heating controls. stop / start buttons etc etc. I know how to use voice controls, and can set a Sat Nav or Screen when stopped and parked with a finger on my left hand. Doing the same on a touch screen while driving and watching the road i really can not do. I got an EV that had stuff on the steering wheel, on the stalks and on the door, and the touch screen does not need touching really as there are physical buttons still for the heating / AC, Lane Keeping Assist ETC. I have tried a few cars that no longer have & i would not have them.
  18. The Best example of the Worst of New Tech is demonstrated with the VW ID3. As reviewed by many Journalists. Lane Assist being the most common complaint. I drive right hand drive cars and being right handed have a problem using touch screens in the middle of the car and also at a stretch. I would give my right hand to ambidextrous.

  20. The Diamond cut is alloy with a Lacquer coating. Look for a matching silver on a paint rack in halfords or motor factors, or get some Silver Nail Varnish and do an invisible repair. You can even use clear nail varnish as a quick protective coat. Choices of nail varnishes can be very good for getting colour matches for quick repairs to stop corrosion until you do permanent repairs of wheels, paint chips etc. You can get a few colours at a £1 a pop and then removing to use prepare and use paint is dead easy.
  21. @TerFar It matters just a little, (Then the OP is in Australia and the fuel choices are different from in the UK) are you noticing the difference with 97 octane or with 99 octane or does it not matter and either does the job better than the 95 ron. They should, they can, but an Ex Tech who is a member on here said he was involved in testing and it made no difference with a 1.0TSI. That was a weird thing though. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469546-10-tsi-premium-fuel
