45k miles, FSSH (whatever that means, as we know). It could be needing a bit more beans from me, or a reset. Could be as simple as me being used to a DQ200 that's set up differently. This was pulling away without the handbrake on or any pressure on the foot brake. With the recent wet weather, the brakes were stuck on, but only a bit (the owner had left the handbrake on when they dropped it off with me) and just enough to hear a light clunk as they released. It does it hot or cold, didn't think to try switching to S (Doh!) so will give that a try. Don't know for sure but I think this is a post mineral oil update car. It is quite literally that first moment, not even a second, as you pull away. And only from a standstill - it behaves impeccably otherwise. The owner's not a car person, so likely as not wouldn't even be aware of it. I'll dilly with it a bit more, obviously with some caution as I don't want them coming back to a broken DSG and me looking sheepish Cheers @Crasher about the accumulator mounting. Were it my car I'd be having the DSG checked out, and I'll likely advise them to when they get back. G

I'm currently looking after a '65 1.2 Fabia for a friend while they're on extended holibobs. When pulling away from stationary there's a momentary delay in drive, so it revs before engaging drive, much as like might happen with a manual gearbox if you rev before the biting point. In all other aspects the DSG is fine. Mrs Gaz's car also has the DQ200, but her Polo's a 1.8 (also a '65 plate) and doesn't do this. My DQ250 doesn't do it either. Both are driving from the get go. I was momentarily disconcerted by it, but then wondered if it's normal behaviour for a DSG on a 1.2? Ta for any thoughts, comments or observations. Gaz

As I was cycling home, over the Polegate by-pass this afternoon, I saw some tell tale LED DRL's and a flash red Polo come off the Cophall roundabout slip road. Like ords, not an issue for me either. I'm 6'4" and it wasn't an issue in my 2015 vRS estate. I did used to have the seat back as far as it would go on its runners though - maybe your seats have less adjustment range? (not that I know, just guessing as to why you can't find the right spot). G

If the steering wheel is at it's highest point of adjustment and the seat is uncomfortable any lower or further back, I guess the only options are to put up with it, or get a steering wheel with a larger diameter. Gaz

Out of curiosity, do you know Graham well enough to make such a statement? Fair play if you do. But otherwise it doesn't seem very nice, and adds nothing to a quite interesting thread. I actually think everyone makes good comments from all perspectives, which brings a nice bit of balance. How I was taught too - cadence braking was it referred to at the time? (My memory fails me once again). My Golf still catches me out from time to time, as I start gentle braking and the car decides to assist me, leaving any passengers wondering WTF I'm up to as we go into unnecessary braking. Gaz

As I zoom in on the photo's they pixellate before I can read them clearly. As they're longer numbers, they may be the wheel reference number. We know they're 16" wheels. The other numbers you need are the offset (distance the rim is offset from the hub) which will start with an ET, so will look something like ET48 or similar, and the wheel width (between the rims) which will look something like 6.5J. You'll also need the same number of studs (five I expect) and the same PCD (Pitched Circle Diameter - the size of a circle taken from the centre point of the stud holes).
