  3. Hello Craig My previous car was a 2015 vRS TSI Estate - cracking car, very versatile 😎 Still think about it fondly from time to time. Gaz
  4. Too clever for its own good - not quite the '... in perfect harmony' prior generations might've aspired to! Gaz
  5. Hello and welcome I used a Rearguards one on my Mk3: https://rgmautomotive.co.uk/product/rgm-abs-rearguard-rbp1314-octavia-v-4-door-4-2020/ Gaz
  6. I'm 59 next Birthday and in all the cars I've had since getting my first one at 17, the only springs I've changed have been on VAG cars, predominantly younger ones. Last being Mrs Gaz's 2015 Polo within the last year or so, although she is attracted to pot holes like the proverbial moth to a flame. Think it was JR, on here, who commented that the paint finish on modern springs is poor, providing access for moisture and rust. Another Simply Clever feature to get used to 🙄 Gaz
  7. Both our cars bomb for the last 1/3 of a tank - even mine, with its virtual cockpit 🙄 I use Fuelly to get brim to brim actual readings. Gaz
  8. I went from a vRS Estate to a 7.5 Golf GTI and am not disappointed. No kids at home any more, so I don't need the space. Bogwoppit's right though - when you start chucking stuff in the boot, the difference in the space available is quite startling. I use a mobility scooter, and a folding bike, which the vRS would swallow with ease, but the Golf does not. Gaz
  9. Hello and welcome Adam Top marks for including a photo in your first post 👍 Peugeot sounds interesting. Gaz
  10. Hello Besters Congrats on the TdF 😎 My first Skoda was a Superb (2005 Mk1), which I loved to bits. Although I've gone back to VW for the time being. Name seems familiar, not that I can place it - are you on other VW fora; UKPassats perhaps? Gaz
  11. If you bought it from a garage, explain what happened and ask them to take a look at it and fix anything that might be faulty. It may be that they'll have diagnostic equipment which can see what your reader might not be able to. I wouldn't view it as a harbinger of doom at the moment, just something that needs checking out. A stitch in time and all that. Given you've not had it long I'd be wanting the supplier to carry out appropriate remedial work if I were you, as a warranty matter. Gaz
  12. Hello Al Car sounds ..... errr..... Superb 😎 Show us a picture of it then! Gaz
  13. Hello and welcome maelstrom Gaz
  14. My Mum used to use one of these for insecticide in her greenhouses: https://www.sam-turner.co.uk/products/burgon-ball-indoor-plant-mister?variant=39929973145739&fo_c=602&fo_k=f161ea01c092b5eff1ff5dc222e138d2&fo_s=gplauk&gclid=Cj0KCQiA1ZGcBhCoARIsAGQ0kkr8ddhSIoBmn2VEkHyz6jU6Sb7_bjLqRsyTyrc8vFljSsqWsNyrOjMaAtJnEALw_wcB In my pre teenage years I used various flammable liquids to turn it into a mini flame thrower. Was good fun until I got a good hiding from my Dad for setting things alight 😢 I use the plastic version of one of these for snowfoam, which works well - if you need it to be pressurised: https://uk.vevor.com/stainless-steel-sprayer-c_10177/stainless-steel-hand-pumped-pressure-sprayer-for-garden-pest-control-1-5-gal-6-l-p_010699118223?gclid=Cj0KCQiA1ZGcBhCoARIsAGQ0kkr9eJXXdiS62elX1XLkqFfQ3DTN574lO8GujOXmm6Pv0W9zDwZHrdwaAvssEALw_wcB Gaz
  15. [//:Pedant] Isn't that the offside? 😇 [pedant/ends] Gotta love a Mk2 ❣️ Of all the cars we've had, I reckon the Mk2 is possibly the best for a home DIY enthusiast 😎 Gaz
  16. Think that's the honorary youngest mileage crown handed over to you. I picked the GTI up with 24 miles on the clock, but was far too excited to take a photo at the time! 🙄 Gaz
  17. Has my Daughter added a new dimension to this thread?: 5dc8ee10-d45e-4ed1-9eef-8afd68e81b23.mov
  18. Similar boat here: 24k coming up in 15 miles time. Early start tomorrow to run Mrs Gaz and our Daughter up to Heathrow. Got to try to not use adaptive cruise control on the A27 or I'll miss it. Feeling the pressure 😓 G
  19. Plenty of threads on here about white smoke fogging the rear window, which is perfectly normal (my 220 vRS was especially good at it on WOT), e.g.: Black smoke from a petrol is another matter though and needs investigating in my opinion. Agree with toot and varooom. Gaz
  20. Gaz replied to vrskeith's topic in Electric Vehicles
I'd be thinking I could put an awful lot of petrol in a Superb for the price of an EV Gaz
  21. Welcome back TT Gaz
  22. Can't see it on the register: Gaz
  23. That would surely entirely depend on the knowledge and competence of staff at the time, and there'd be little to no chance of finding out now. None whatsoever in my opinion. Gaz
  24. Hello Stonechip My first Skoda was a 2005 Mk1 Superb - cracking car 😎 Gaz
  25. Hello OM Have you still got the Golf? Gaz
