DieselMontes BarnFind Subaru Justy
I'm with VHB & JR - cracking little find 👍 We had the luck of the devil once with a 1980 Toyota Starlet (RWD version 1.2GL). Wifey didn't even want to go and look at it, but conceded. We bought it on the spot and paid over the odds without hesitation, because it was in showroom condition and I couldn't fault it. Served us well for many years 😎 This one reminds me fondly of our Smarty orange Starlet. Gaz

It would be simply clever...
This really surprised me. I know they're three years apart, but my GTI is a nicer place to be than my vRS was, in my opinion. The GTI was forecourt'd at £1,600 less than the vRS I'd bought three years earlier. I did look at a new vRS at the time (basic spec IIRC), but felt the GTI was better overall. I can't remember what the price comparisons were at the time betwixt the two. Gaz

Window seals
There can be many reasons, but as Ken has said, it won't be because of the blades at the bottom of the opening window. Doors are expected to have water go into them, and it then exits through the drain holes in the bottom of the doors. I'd start there if I were you. Underneath the internal door card is usually a membrane, or a tin plate that the winder mechanism is mounted on. These are usually sealed to the door frame, but if they are not, or the seal has deteriorated, then water can get in. If it is '****ing in', I'd expect to see some evidence of where that it happening. Only by looking will it become apparent. If you look at the underside of the door, adjacent to the inner door card, is there any water, or tell-tale run marks? After that, I'd inspect the door seals for wear/damage. Then I'd check any sunroof drains, if you have one. Then move on to the plenum chamber, making note of all the very good advice in the 'water ingress' thread, pinned at the top of this sub-fora. Another not so common one on Superb's is grommets that go through the bulkhead/firewall becoming dislodged or even missing. IIRC this can be the case where water is only on the drivers side - it can easily sloosh back to the rear footwell. I'd also check your spare wheel well for any signs of water. Gaz

jars' 2005 Fabia vRS
Jeez TM, I think you can knock apologising straight on the head! After the rollercoaster you've experienced, I think anything is completely understandable, PTSD and anxiety included. I see the same positives than yon Pete sees, steps are good 👍 I'm two years past my hip surgery, but I know the pre surgery warnings about dislocation risks are holding me back, even if they're now unrealistic. And I still stumble with the mindset of being reluctant to walk any distance, based on pre-surgery concerns about pain, even though the hip joint's titanium and ain't gonna hurt. I berate myself for my irrational behaviour. My circumstances pale into insignificance compared to yours, so I think you can afford to cut yourself some slack and allow the rollercoaster to find its way to happier undulations. All good wishes for your ongoing recovery 👍 This sounds like it could be fun. It's a bit of a trek, but I could be up for it, according to what kinda ammo we're allowed to play with, and whether you're allowed to retaliate. Was the offer only open to TM? 😁 Gaz

Approved used Mini (or how I do so love dealers and their interpretations)
Fair wear and tear? Although I suppose 'depends' is all that's needed as a caveat 🙄 Seems like neither the words 'confidence', nor 'total' have any credence. If a 2016 model, could it in fairness be in the twilight of its career? (The battery, not the car). Gaz

Cruise control issues.
Hello OWSI If you go to the Fabia sub-forum and search for 'cruise control', there are lots of threads on the subject, e.g.: Gaz EDIT: I see one thread includes this, which might be interesting: https://wirer.sk/f3_tempomat/
