Do they still make it as l&k or only sport line now?

Goodbye
Right... Regardless of rights or wrong, this has to stop. The fact that we're getting reports and having to consider cleaning up a goodbye thread clearly proves that some things have gone too far!

Do all bi-xenon's dance?
They would still do a pure up down “dance” just without the left right movement.

Do all bi-xenon's dance?
Do you have any levelling adjustment by the light switch? You shouldn’t but it’s worth checking. Same goes for headlight washers in the bumper. The lights definitely should dance around when the engine is running.

Front shock absorber leaking
Late to the post, but there was a tsb for leaking shocks as my local dealer checked my car during a service. the tsb was for prematurely leaking shocks.

Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
It's true the width isn't a great help on the side roads and that's a fair point. Sadly I think some of that is just people not caring, as we get the same with big US trucks and 4x4 type vehicles around here. Our household will get one electric car first, to see how we get on with them then we'll look at either hydrogen fuel cell if viable or another electric a few years later. Our problem is that whichever car is first, be it a bigger car or a 3 mile trip to work car, the range has to be 200miles give or take on a single charge in winter and it will have to be able to take shopping/kids. If it's the larger car, then closer to 300 would be good, but I also want it enjoyable to drive. Personally I have always perfered a car that handles like a go cart and gets up to speed reasonably quickly over one that is very fast in a straight line but no fun in the corners. Last time I did any modifications to a car it was a billstein B12 kit, new bushes all around and better brakes, with nothing to the engine at all. That is also why I really didn't like the original merc and etron releases, although I don't like lardy ICE cars either, so perhaps worth re-visiting the second generations. The e-Corsa seems to be getting a lot of marketing budget thrown at it, much as every other electric car, but I have to be honest I've not driven the smaller stuff bar the mini. I'd love it if mini did a clubman with a range near 200 miles, but then we are also starting to look at some of the other small stuff too and considering starting with the second car as the first electric car. Your model information says you've got an e-Corsa. Are you happy with it? Much as I've not been a fan of vauxhall, that's mainly for the drivers of astra and insignia on the motorway more than anything else. Any thoughts on good and not so great bits with it?

Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
It’s one I would add yes, I’d want to see the lease price in the real world as opposed to the list, but it’s an option. The ipace handles well for a porky and is another option on the electric front. Not a fan of Elon and his behaviour, so they are not. I skipped a car by extending the last vehicle with the intention of having something fun this time. Charger infrastructure is a risk but I am hoping it rapidly improves. The other option is to go for a last chance gt or sleeper with a big engine such as an ftype svo/v6 or perhaps an rs6 etc. I found the merc similar in terms of softness of the ride, but you expect that to a degree in a merc. I am sure/hope that gen 2 will be better across all brands, but many of the first attempts didn’t in my opinion get the handling right with all the extra weight.

Yes, hence the hoping it’s not horrible to drive.

Audi unveils its EV Porsche Taycan sibling
The SUV e-tron, rolled and was horrible to drive (IMHO). It rolled like a hydropneumatic suspension equipped citroen with worn out spheres or an LHM leak. As this is an etron-GT, as saloon rather than a SUV, I am hoping it doesn't live up to it's french name. EDIT: For those who were confused, look up the french word étron. The first etron was an SUV body shell and many found it was a horrible rolling ride. My earlier statement is that I am hoping the lower slung saloon (not SUV) version handles better. Original etron: https://www.audiusa.com/us/web/en/models/e-tron/e-tron/2021/overview.html New etron-GT: https://www.audi.co.uk/e-tron-gt.html Summary of the three types here: https://www.audi.co.uk/content/audiadaptive/en/e-tron.html

The question for me will be does it drive like the original étron, which IMHO certainly drove like one. Here is hoping, but then I think the marketing department should probably fix the whole etron brand too.

Upright storage of winter wheels?
I use a wheel tree , but before I had one I used to use a slatted wooden shelf, make sure they were inflated and rotate them about once a month. The rim adds weight for sure, so is probably more likely to cause sidewall/flat spot damage than empty.

Bag in coolant.
It was a tank from the most powerful engine in a mk1 or the earliest mk 2 tt I think. I remember coming across the diagrams when investigating mine, looking at the tank as an option and being told by a dealer it wasn’t worth it. They showed one in an old tt. At a guess I would say between 2008 and 2014, but I sadly can’t remember exact dates.

Bag in coolant.
The oldest design I saw had two cylinders which pressed into clips on the bottom of the tank. Come some defined point or if they ran out they could be removed and replaced with new ones. Odd that that tank pictures states g12 not g12+/++ etc though.

Coolant / Oil Mayo issue
Egr cooler if it has one? Have you tried a UV marker for the coolant to see where it is leaking from (if you don’t already know) If you know where the coolant is going it will help to work out what is going on.
-
Bag in coolant.
your view on that will probably depend on if you’re an engineer or accountant...
-
Bag in coolant.
That was used in a tt I think and they can be replaced too. You could buy the parts to change the two cylinders. It’s not new, but old, possibly the original design.

white dust from vents
You would be surprised as they can look fine but still be falling apart.. A new quality filter is a cheap test for those still having the problem.

Ahh my mistake I misread the original comment 👍

Superb 272 engine v golf r 300
Thread revival but... Interestingly the higher NOx from diesels is often blamed (in part) on the higher compression... I wonder how NOx emissions compare. Does anyone have any updates to this thread as I am debating going all electric or a 272etc as a last bit of fun..

Wireless thermostat wiring....
So a brief update... Gas consumption per day since installation day is approximately 20-30% lower than that from the last few gas bills. Not been cold bar the first few days where we were testing/tweaking until the temperatures were set correctly in the rooms. Considering that’s two cold months vs a mix over the last three quarterly bills I am more than happy that the system will more than pay for itself quite quickly. 👍

Front seats interchangeable?
I would speak to a seat repair company. You will be able to get the foam changed for example to memory foam. Bolsters softened or reduced and any other tweaks you might want can be discussed. You can get one of both done and best of all they will match the rest of the car still. Dirt cheap, no but probably not much worse than a swap and the end result will probably better. Also far cheaper than swapping the car/wife and you don’t have to store the old seats for resale time.

Basic Aerodynamics question - Bikes Roof or Back
I assumed he already had the roof ones from when the takes the mobile target on the tow bar and the bikes. Obviously if not then yes a tow bar fitting would be my choice, but a good one isn't cheap these days.

Basic Aerodynamics question - Bikes Roof or Back
I would imagine you will save less on fuel than you will spend on an alternative bike carrier, lights and rear reg plate EDIT: As it's not a guide, I've moved the thread to what I think is the right place, so you should get more answers
