  1. Looks like you've got an exhaust leak and there is a chance that could be leading to the emissions fail - I'd get that fixed first and re-test to see if that fixes it
  2. Id echo the above and wouldn't mix two all season and two summer tyres. It probably won't hurt the haldex etc. but it could lead to some 'interesting' handling behaviour in wet or bad weather.
  3. Just to comment very quickly on this - I use Costco and yes I generally expect to queue at busy times - much as I would at the local Sainsbury's on a Saturday, which is generally just as bad. I did so on Saturday and had maybe a 10 minute wait but I was at Costco anyway for food (my wife was already in the shop) and saving 10p per litre it's a wrth while thing to do. However, filling up at Costco on the way home from work I very rarely have to queue and am usually straight on a pump or have just one car in front of me. As ever with these things it depends on the 'spin' being placed upon the statements. And yes I have a double driveway and a garage and three petrol powered ICE cars (one of which is a mild hybrid). I could go EV and may well do so at some point in the future foe one of them but that will only happen when it suits me and I'm up for changing vehicles - which isn't going to be for many years yet (registrations are 2018, 2017 and 1995 - so lots of life left in them yet...)
  4. I was actually going to say how big is the car seat and how big are your...???...!!! We got reverse and forward facing car seats behind me driving in both a mk1 Fabia estate anda MK2 Octavia estate. They would absolutely fall into our Kodiaq were we still to need them...
  5. I've read about them and seen a couple of reviews but not seen one in the flesh at all but then I think they've only just opened EU showrooms and are yet to hit the UK. they do look pretty smart though and I believe there are various ways of getting one - originally they were going to be subscription only but I think the are available to lease or purchase outright now too?
  6. Now that's interesting...
  7. We have a 1.4tdi 4x4 manual and live on the edge of the peak district. It regularly travels across the peaks fully loaded to the gunnels to Belfast and Lancaster - it copes fine with no issues apart from an occasional need to let it have a few more revs before changing gear...
  8. Think they stopped making them in late 2023 so there'll still be some around in fleets. I even saw one the other day... Took me a minute to realise what it was...
  9. Tend to agree with most of your points but interestingly our Kodiaq 4x4 is lighter than our Mk2 TDi 4x4 was...
  10. Ooh I'll guess i30 or Tipo
  11. Our 2018 SE has AA and works fine so don't think it's an age thing. Have you reset the system by pressing and holding the on off button on the infotainment as that usually sorts ours when it gets a bit stroppy. Otherwise it could be the USB socket playing up?
  12. I'm pretty sure our Kodiaq has a setting in the lights menu to turn the headlights on if the wipers are working. They certainly come on that way... Doesn't help the OP though .. sorry
  13. Thanks @Lee01... I appreciate the offer... Having emailed them they seem to be able to deliver to Northern Ireland without the minimum order value and, as I'm over there in a few weeks, visiting the MIL that might work. If not I may be in touch. Cheers
  14. Don't know but they work fine via a wired android auto connection
  15. Just a quickie... Has anyone dealt with dacapo audio the danish outfit? I've had a few LPs skip today so I think I'm getting ready for a new stylus for my Ortofon VMS 20e mkii. They seem few and far between, especially the OE ones, and I don't trust the eBay ones but dacapo do a Tonar replacement that seems to be recommended on Vinyl Engine... So any thoughts?? Edit. OK scratch that idea... Dacapo have a mini order vale of £135 to the UK. The search goes on for a decent value replacement
  16. I seem to recall that an electronic child lock button may have been an option on some models - the Superb and Kodiaq I believe - but they're not standard fit.
  17. This might interest some of you in terms of global cycles... El Niño and La Niña Years and Intensities (ggweather.com) psl.noaa.gov/enso/past_events.html
  18. Interesting that most people here seem to be using Canon kit... I've always had Nikon for years but I guess thats always been the split . Your either one or the other.
  19. Harrisons is a great store and has been around for donkeys years... I too remember it on the other side of the road and used to work just down the road before we moved offices. I still drive past every day on the way home from work and have also had kit from there in the past, albeit not quite as high spec...
  20. Excellent... A man after my own heart in terms of attitude. Re the micromobility I hope it's not illegal forms of micro mobility or illegal use of those forms (bearing in mind I think they are great but also know others on here and on this thread use them and have openly admitted to doing so illegally
  21. And yet, and yet... you own two private vehicles... in a city that has just about the best Public Transport available in the UK or even Europe... Apologies - I just couldn't resist passing comment 😉
  22. I think you'll find that in the vast majority of cases car allowances have been or are being removed... there are still some areas where they are provided but generally they have been, or are being, rolled up into overall salaries. As to the comment about 'brand' etc. - that appears to be a rather elitist and snobbish attitude of it still exists. I know of many people who actually consider a supplier, or similar, turning up in a 'flash' or 'premium' marque to be a big 'neagitive' in terms of employing them, as it potentially indicates paying over the odds for their services.
  23. Looksike you just wasted £200 if they a reflectors as the reflector will be a different shape for LHD compared to RHD
  24. Jeez - the dealer really was in cloud cuckoo land when they put that list together...
  25. The same happened to our Octavia. I tried sticking and taping it back together for a while but then gave up.
