Upgrading Halogen Reflector Headlamps to LED
That seem a strange change - so older headlight units that probably have a less well defined beam pattern due to their reflector and lens design can be converted to LED bit not newer ones?? Or am I reading hat sentence incorrectly

the truth about electric cars
Hmmm... I'm not sure we're there just yet...

Rob's Ur Quattro
I was trying to work out what the strange bonnet mascot was in that last picture then realised it was a reflection of the garage door opener...

Changing timing belt on an 1.4 TSI ACT engine
Are they actual cracks as they look like the belt material weave showing
-
Changing timing belt on an 1.4 TSI ACT engine
No... There are 1.4ACT engines in the Superb and Kodiaq up to 2018.

Tailgate rubber
I replaced it because I thought it was the cause of a leak... It wasn't... That turned out to be something else.

the truth about electric cars
The latter would normally be called price gouging and would be investigated in other businesses

Restoring grey trim on a scout
If you are going to try this test a very small patch in an unseen place first as I think you'll find it'll go whitish over time. It actually looks like that's what's caused the problem to start with.

Tailgate rubber
I got one for our old octavia estate from this website... The link below is for a hatch https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/1z5827705a-5th-door-seal-genuine-part-17823.html

Restoring grey trim on a scout
I never used anything on our Octavia but, after trying a number of other products I did use GTechniq C4 on two Honda Civics and various other vehicles and have just bought a bottle for use on our Kodiaq. It worked an absolute treat on the Civic's plastic trim and restored the finish completely and lasted a few years until they were sold.

Super iV 2022 - How to remove the instant consumtion from the display?
Hi @VioMee what @Gaz is saying is that the section of the forum you posted in is not for specific questions about cars - it's for how to use the forum itself. You need to post in the relevant Superb section to get your answer and Gaz has therefore flagged your query to the moderators to get the post relocated to the correct Superb section. Regarding your question I'd assume it is similar to other Skoda vehicles and you simply need to use the right hand scroll wheel on the steering wheel to change what is displayed?

Internal movement sensor and auto locking
If you turn it off it only disabled the setting for one lock cycle. As soon as you unlock and open a door again it resets. So you opening and closing it will have reset it... Hence the dog setting it off.

Guess the Hire Car.... Mac's 2019 game
I'd have been back to the hire company on that... A T-cross is nowhere near the same size as a Tucson... Its from the size sector below.

Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
That are cameras... They record an image so anything on that image is available to them. The ANPR bit is post-processing of the image to identify and extract the number plate. How did you think they worked???

Happy to be here.
Broken clips are not uncommon - repair kits and replacement clips are available on ebay for less than £10 if you're handy at DIY.

Additional boot lights in Superb estate
On our Kodiaq I've added a stick on LED strip to the underside of the load cover with a small connector wired in to the left hand boot light. It works great and because of the connector the load cover is still removable. It needs a bit of fettling to tidy it up as the current set up was a proof of concept but it's easy and quick to do.

Sold: 4x Kodiaq / VW Tiguan mk2 winter wheels with Continental TS850p winter tyres (5.5-6mm)
You might want to add a price and wheel and tyre size?

the truth about electric cars
Saw a Fisker Ocean in black today. Looked very nice... Just a shame they've gone bust.

Photography Thread
I was born up the road - just into Ecclesall, moved to Beauchief after getting married and now in Bradway. It's a small world!

Interestingly that's the tram that, in days gone by, would have gone up Abbey Lane past the end of the road we used to live on given the route info above the conductors head.

Anyone running on CrossClimate 2 225/50R18 MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE 2 SUV ?
Had the original CCs on a mk2 Octy 4x4 and they were excellent. I'll certainly be going for those or something similar All Season when our current Falkens need replacing. The only downside is they seem to be a bit more expensive than competitors.

Key fob not working - no red light
Interestingly other manuals say press the button then place the back of the fob on the button... Might be something different to try and probably depends on where the transponder is within the key.

Stoplock Pro or Elite
Neither - a Milenco / 4Tress would be my preference and what I have on my MX5 Best steering wheel locks 2024 - tried and tested | What Car?

Key fob not working - no red light
I think even the Kessy cars have the hidden keyhole... and as for starting it that doesn't need a fob battery - just push the start button with the fob itself rather than your finger and it'll work.
