the truth about electric cars
I only assume because you have admitted doing so in your posts (both on this thread and elsewhere in these forums)... As for running cars on 45p per mile - it is possible as a quick check reveals my Swift is costing me around 38p per mile at the moment, including fuel, tyres, servicing, insurance, tax and depreciation (the latter based on my original purchase price and current Autotrader values for vehicles of a similar age, mileage and specification). I haven't included the cost of one pair of wipers and screenwash over the last few years. Granted getting the above down to 25p per mile would be more difficult!

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Thanks - that seems to clarify that they think 16% have no solutions, 16% can use cross-footway solutions and 68% have access to a driveway or similar... I remain to be convinced their numbers are correct 🤣

the truth about electric cars
No wonder if those who are supposed to be 'auditing' are as bad as the rest in terms of false declarations and claims etc. I have no words for the hypocrisy in some of your posts!

the truth about electric cars
I guess by 'many drivers' you mean yourself??? Most of us don't commit fraud and claim for the mileage of the route we actually take and the mileage we do, without adding in 'extras'...

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
That's a slightly ambiguous paper - is the 16% of the nation (of England) part of the 32% or not - it doesn't clearly say. So is there 32% that remain with no solution but 16% do have a potential solution via cross-footway charging, meaning 52% have access to a driveway or similar? Or is it 16% have no solutions, 16% can use cross-footway solutions and 68% have access to a driveway or similar? Very poor writing with regard to clarity of information... and totally ambiguous!

LED Front Fog lights
Which is all exactly as we've been trying to tell you...??? Albeit maybe in not so many words and not as clearly...

the truth about electric cars
Give it up George... There's no point arguing with him... As you said earlier he's blind to the point of the discussion taking place. It often happens with 'evangelists' of any sort... They just can't see past the end of Thier own nose.

The Twins. (And Yeti RS)
That's fair enough... I just recon people on here would be genuinely interested as not judgemental etc. (wellost of us anyway...) Either way it's your choice that is to be respected. Cheers!!

Nice to see you back... It would be great to see some of your more recent adventures...

the truth about electric cars
Good... Test results for some hybrids have always been daft. Hardly more nails in the coffin of ICE vehicles though... That's just hyperbole...

Blasphemy: Octavia MK3 vs Yaris MK3 - need opinions
I'd be checking air filter and spark plugs plus boost hoses for leaks etc, followed by a check for binding brakes for starters. I'd then try and get a full vcds or similar scan done.

Blasphemy: Octavia MK3 vs Yaris MK3 - need opinions
I'd get the car checked out if I were you... With that performance and mpg it sounds like something is wrong...

Overheating on restart
Hi George... You've read the OPs post incorrectly. It's a 2.0tsi detuned to 140kw. https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-reviews/2022-skoda-octavia-140tsi-limited-edition-review

Overheating on restart
Sounds like the typical sticking shroud within the water pump. It seems to be a common fault on some.

LED Front Fog lights
Osram make LED retrofit dro ins that are road legal in various European countries but that legality hasn't been replicated here in the UK so they can't be legally used here yet.

*Skoda Superb PHEV to be banned from sale from 2030?*
As above this is a ban on sales only, not used... So nothing to be worried about... It's just poorly worded scaremongering journalism.

the truth about electric cars
Why should there be... There's a more limited EV charging market than for petrol stations and let's be honest you'd be a pretty sad individual to take your car out to charge it on Christmas day!!!
- Keyfob issue after changing battery (red light not coming on when button pressed)...any suggestions?

Keyfob issue after changing battery (red light not coming on when button pressed)...any suggestions?
Sounds like there's an issue with the battery or the battery contacts if there's no red light when you press the button. Have you checked there's no protection film on the batteries and that the battery contacts are clean and actually contacting the battery? If not give them a rub and bend them out a but to make sure?

Boot Lid Tail Lights
On low spec models that's how they work... The inner section on the boot lid doesn't light up.
-
LED Front Fog lights
ONLY at times of SERIOUSLY REDUCED visibility - ie below 100m...
-
LED Front Fog lights
That would be for a rear incandescent fog light IIRC...
-
LED Front Fog lights
Don't know where you are getting that idea from but wherever it is it's a load of tosh and rubbish - there is no such legal requirement! It may be 'recommended' by various motoring organisations but is not a requirement and these days with LED lighting it's pointless anyway. As for LED bulbs in fog lights - please don't and please don't use them as additional lighting unless it is indeed foggy - to do so WOULD be bad, cause glare to other road users and would be against the highway code as they should only be used when visibility is restricted and below 100m.

I need to replace a headlamp washer cover on my Mk3
I think the consensus previously was getting someone in the car to spray the lights so you can grab the extended washer nozzle. You should then able to clip on the new cover

Driver Car Seat Cushion.
What's the issue with it... Why do you think it's no good?
