the truth about electric cars
Just beware of legionella - I think any water 'stored' (eg in pipes / tanks) needs to be kept at around 60 degrees to prevent it - and I have a vague recollection that incudes DHW supplies.

Noisy door - creak hunt diary... 69 plate
The rattle there is between the two skins of the lid. The outer one is simply a trim that can be changed to suit different interiors for the different trim levels so it should unclip allowing you to pad it out and stop the rattle. If it's not that then it could be the door trims that run from front to back and match the glovebox trims. They can rattle against the door panel so all of mine have been padded out a bit with some thin rubber pushed under them between the trim and the panel

They knackered my car... 😢
Except that as an untaxed car it shouldn't actually be being driven on the road... I know technically you are correct but it's perverse...

They knackered my car... 😢
Just re the above - my mum was involved in an accident recently and had the same issue - an untaxed driver... Insurance didn't give a fig and neither did the police...

Rubber mats
Skoda rubber mats here too front and back plus tunnel. Perfect fit, very durable and work well. Id imagine you can source them online cheaper than through any dealer.

Failed MOT due to emissions
Looks like you've got an exhaust leak and there is a chance that could be leading to the emissions fail - I'd get that fixed first and re-test to see if that fixes it

Ok just to Change 2 tyres on 4X4?
Id echo the above and wouldn't mix two all season and two summer tyres. It probably won't hurt the haldex etc. but it could lead to some 'interesting' handling behaviour in wet or bad weather.

the truth about electric cars
Just to comment very quickly on this - I use Costco and yes I generally expect to queue at busy times - much as I would at the local Sainsbury's on a Saturday, which is generally just as bad. I did so on Saturday and had maybe a 10 minute wait but I was at Costco anyway for food (my wife was already in the shop) and saving 10p per litre it's a wrth while thing to do. However, filling up at Costco on the way home from work I very rarely have to queue and am usually straight on a pump or have just one car in front of me. As ever with these things it depends on the 'spin' being placed upon the statements. And yes I have a double driveway and a garage and three petrol powered ICE cars (one of which is a mild hybrid). I could go EV and may well do so at some point in the future foe one of them but that will only happen when it suits me and I'm up for changing vehicles - which isn't going to be for many years yet (registrations are 2018, 2017 and 1995 - so lots of life left in them yet...)

Rear leg room - Kodiaq vs Superb
I was actually going to say how big is the car seat and how big are your...???...!!! We got reverse and forward facing car seats behind me driving in both a mk1 Fabia estate anda MK2 Octavia estate. They would absolutely fall into our Kodiaq were we still to need them...

Guess the Hire Car.... Mac's 2019 game
I've read about them and seen a couple of reviews but not seen one in the flesh at all but then I think they've only just opened EU showrooms and are yet to hit the UK. they do look pretty smart though and I believe there are various ways of getting one - originally they were going to be subscription only but I think the are available to lease or purchase outright now too?

Now that's interesting...

Would like to buy a Kodiaq, unsure which one would suit us best
We have a 1.4tdi 4x4 manual and live on the edge of the peak district. It regularly travels across the peaks fully loaded to the gunnels to Belfast and Lancaster - it copes fine with no issues apart from an occasional need to let it have a few more revs before changing gear...

Guess the Hire Car.... Mac's 2019 game
Think they stopped making them in late 2023 so there'll still be some around in fleets. I even saw one the other day... Took me a minute to realise what it was...

Who or what is the biggest threat to SKODA?
Tend to agree with most of your points but interestingly our Kodiaq 4x4 is lighter than our Mk2 TDi 4x4 was...

2018 Android Auto not working.
Our 2018 SE has AA and works fine so don't think it's an age thing. Have you reset the system by pressing and holding the on off button on the infotainment as that usually sorts ours when it gets a bit stroppy. Otherwise it could be the USB socket playing up?

Scandinavian DRL's?
I'm pretty sure our Kodiaq has a setting in the lights menu to turn the headlights on if the wipers are working. They certainly come on that way... Doesn't help the OP though .. sorry

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
Thanks @Lee01... I appreciate the offer... Having emailed them they seem to be able to deliver to Northern Ireland without the minimum order value and, as I'm over there in a few weeks, visiting the MIL that might work. If not I may be in touch. Cheers

Listening to WhatsApp Voice Notes.
Don't know but they work fine via a wired android auto connection

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
Just a quickie... Has anyone dealt with dacapo audio the danish outfit? I've had a few LPs skip today so I think I'm getting ready for a new stylus for my Ortofon VMS 20e mkii. They seem few and far between, especially the OE ones, and I don't trust the eBay ones but dacapo do a Tonar replacement that seems to be recommended on Vinyl Engine... So any thoughts?? Edit. OK scratch that idea... Dacapo have a mini order vale of £135 to the UK. The search goes on for a decent value replacement

Child lock
I seem to recall that an electronic child lock button may have been an option on some models - the Superb and Kodiaq I believe - but they're not standard fit.
