  1. As far as I know Arrowspeed are made by Nexen and are basically rebranded Nexen tyres. Make of that what you want.
  2. It did the clutch thing again yesterday but sorted it no problem... Also as promised photos of it in all its glory...
  3. I though on the newer models it worked off the satnav GPS and changed them automatically???
  4. Hmmm... Even a Kia Sorrento starts at £45k and a Hyundai Santa Fe at £47k... Looks like I may be downsizing or looking for another cheaper brand... I wonder what the big Dacia Bigster will start at? My guess is about £8k less than the base Kodiaq...
  5. Ouch!!! That base price is double what I paid for a low mileage one... I'll definitely need to wait a few years...
  6. Got to love a Unimog... I remember as a kid having a die cast yellow 406, which was probably a corgi. It might even still be at my mums house somewhere...
  7. Could be... It is a hire car after all so I doubt it's been well looked after. A couple of times today it didn't let me have a gear either... any gear... so I'm not sure if the slave cylinder is on the way out too (it's quite a low biting point) or if I wasn't quite getting it fully depressed. Pumping the pedal a couple of times fixed it, or repositioned my foot enough... One or the other... and it's not happened since but I'm a bit wary now.
  8. Photos to follow but it's a pre facelift with 64k km on the clock... So older dash design etc. It seems to bumble along ok but nothing to shout about and it's no match for the Swift back home... That's much nicer inside and a lot livelier but then it weighs about a ton compared to about 1.2t for the Ibiza.
  9. I think you mean 6 Sigma and it's 3.4 defects per million...
  10. This ^^^^^. It's a common fault and an easy fix.
  11. I just have a magnetic mount on the vents and spreads the load across a few slats They are pretty sturdy but then my phone is only 203g.
  12. OK so the result is in... It a Seat Ibiza Excellence 1.0 110bhp in white with a few scrapes on the front bumper. Hence the closest in this competition of hire car bingo is @mac11irl as he did at least mention an ibiza even if he ultimately went for something else... Seems to pull OK, albeit with a bit of a judder when cold and is comfy enough but the sat nav is an absolute bloody nightmare... It seems to insist on offering me all the previous destinations it has been to and has already sent me to the wrong location from the one I asked for. I've done a factory reset and have managed to change the language to English so hopefully it'll behave tomorrow.
  13. Thanks... I'll take a look but it'll be a few years yet before I can look at them properly second hand...
  14. The Panda was a hybrid and totally gutless but I loved the pattern on the dashboard and doors that was made using the letters P A N D A... As for sizing... I once booked a Kia Picanto in Belfast and got a Sportage!
  15. Interesting choices... Last two times with hiday cars I booked a Leon and a Panda and got a Leon and a Panda... So I guess we'll see...
  16. Thought I would tag onto this thread if @mac11irl doesn't mind... Got a Corsa booked in Lanzarote from Cabrera Medina from tomorrow... Any guesses
  17. I have a vague recollection that the levelling motors have a ball and socket connection on the end of them that can become detached. I wonder if the garage that fitted the new burners has somehow managed to pop the levelling motor ball end out of the socket on the back of the light unit.
  18. As above I'd start by checking you actually need ne light units and you haven't just got a stuck or broken level sensor or leveling motor. Otherwise you could just swap the headlights for halogens
  19. I think a lot depends on how confident / nervous a driver you are - I've never had issues with any of the vehicles I've driven that have had it fitted but then I can image a less experienced / more nervous / less confident driver might panic a bit when it intervenes.
  20. Not so sure on that one... I find I'm more dazzled by standard fit non working matrix lights or the Teslas lights whatever they are as they are particularly bad.
  21. Personally I'm a bit of a vredestein or Falken fan for normal (non all season) tyres at the moment and have been using them for years... Good quality and performance without the big brand markup. In the size you are looking for I'd be thinking Falken ZE310 Ecorun as I have them on our Swift in 185/55 r16 and they've been good in the wet and dry.
  22. Ditto... I wouldn't be too worried about those... They look about par for the course for rear Kodiaq brake discs.
  23. If it's a choice between a 1.6TDi and a 1.9PD TDi I'd go 1.9. We had one in a Fabia Estate and it was a good engine that eventually did something like 189k miles.
