  1. Was going to say the same re my Suzuki... It's very smooth with a nice rasp when pushing on. That Peugeot 2008. Must've had something seriously amiss... Probably a knackered engine mount or a miss fire.
  2. Excellent... Looks like a result!
  3. Have you tried lubricating the lock mechanism? It might just be jammed / stiff.
  4. What's under the driver alert system menu? I'd expect that to be a more likely place for it.
  5. Try one you'll be surprised. 110bhp 126lbft plus another 4bhp and 37lbft (114bhp 163lbft total) from the hybrid part all in 960kg with all modern safety features you can think of (lane keep, autonomous braking, radar active cruise etc). Its light years ahead of the tweaked Fabia 1.9 TDI and Octavia 2.0TDIs we had
  6. Do t be dismissive of them... Get a decent one and they are excellent. My 998cc Boosterjet Suzuki Swift hybrid is a cracking little thing, lots of tech, a comfy interior, good handling and drive, has been totally reliable and does about 50mpg round town.
  7. My educated guess... From experience on a Kodiaq... The rear wiper seal between the arm and the glass (or similar - I'm not familiar with the Superb mk2 set up).
  8. Yes, I saw that too... Makes you wonder what speed they were actually doing as I doubt the bus would have been speeding? Just shows that you can try what you like with speed limits and the like but it won't always make a difference as human nature, at times, will be to drive in whatever way someone wants to regardless of speed limits. On the other hand driver frustration is caused by long stretches of slow speeds or limits for no apparent reason and is known to often lead to speeding elsewhere... It's something assessed during road design.
  9. I was an Assistant Resident Engineer on a big road scheme in Doncaster when those were introduced... None of the contractors guys knew how they were supposed to be installed so I had to find a copy of the standards and help them out. We also had to change some of the crossing layouts slightly too to meet the requirements. These days they are everywhere and instead of using precast slabs with raised bumps they often just tarmac and use a stick on rubber 'topper'.
  10. I had one that lasted about 11 years then two in quick succession that died after a year. I went back to a standard battery. Probably my fault as they got to a low state of charge that effectively killed them as they then wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few days. No such problems with a standard one at half the price.
  11. Noted and up to you - I wouldn't put and AGM battery on instead of a EFB - I've used AGM batteries before on other vehicles designed for AGM batteries and not had a positive experience. But your choice - I'll dip out now.
  12. The battery is simply a 'dumb' component that supplies 12v. Your comparison is irrelevant as it's like comparing apples and oranges. It's your car so your decision but your concern is unwarranted and, in my opinion, rather strange.
  13. You do realise Bosch and Varta batteries are the same and made in the same factory don't you?
  14. I'm guessing the extra 2ft is with the load bed tailgate down? Either way as others have said it's stupidly heavy and a stupid childish design. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with it in any way to be honest... Be that in relation to its design and engineering or just driving it.
  15. Im pretty certain that may be part of the radio aerial and not the heating elements. We have similar on our Kodiaq
  16. sounds like a bit of lubrication is in order...
  17. To be fair to the others it was @lol-lolthat started the qualification ****ing contest from what I can make out...
  18. Might be worth trying some of these variations as it definitely sounds like the fob has lost sybc
  19. It may just be a case of resyncing the fobs. The instructions should be in the manual
  20. If it's a projector light it probably has a single H7 bulb with a shutter in front of it that screens off the full beam when on dipped beam. Chances are you may be able to upgrade to a H7 hid burner like many did in mk2 Octavias
  21. The wiper arm seal was the cause of a similar issue on my Kodiaq - took some tracing but the some windscreen sealant underneath the wiper arm seal and the glass sorted it.
  22. I believe it should just pull upwards as it's on clips but not 100% certain
  23. That striker plate is usually held in by two bolts / screws - one at either side of the pin - that are covered by the trim around the tailgate - you'll need to remove the trim to loosen them re-align it.
  24. I started to notice mine about 70k miles but it wasn't bad until about 90k. Fine under normal driving but bad when loaded or on the motorway in top at about 2300 rpm.
