  1. Yeah the 103s were certainly a bit wakky an very big for a bookshelf. Unfortunately they were fried by an Amp that decided to put mains voltage down the speaker terminals so I only heard them a couple of times. The crestas he had wall mounted and they were usually blasting out classical music whilst he was cooking in the kitchen.
  2. He was a bit of a Kef fan... Before the R3 he had some 70s Cresta 2 in the dining room and reference 103 in the lounge. The MIL hated them and they were well past their best by the time I saw them but he held on to them just in case even though they'd packed in working. They are now in the hifi scrapyard in the sky...
  3. That's a really interesting read as I have the older MA Bronze B2 but have to say I doubt I'd have the time or inclination to upgrade them to that level of detail, even if it were so worthwhile! Kudos to you for doing so... Maybe I'll just nick my late FILs Kef R3 instead...
  4. Just check any listing is the right one though asvoi think they come in different lengths...
  5. Yes .. it's a threaded plastic t bar arrangement. The t bar goes through the slit and turns 90 degrees with the threaded part sticking up. There is then a wide plastic threaded disc or 'nut' that goes on top and tightens down keeping the spare in place and the t bar in position https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202589799274?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338785333&toolid=10029&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1v2vVv2HGTVSZAa-nnYcNzA6&customid=s%3AGS%3Bgc%3AEAIaIQobChMI2K2VtMrW8gIVUNPtCh1JSgQfEAQYASABEgKThPD_BwE
  6. Nope... Same on our kodiaq... I think you need to have electric memory seats for it to go further and the dipped position set.
  7. My guess then is that its a feature of the dsg and is the clutch pack engaging and adjusting to suit there different revs and speed as you release the throttle. I and my wife noticed similar jerkiness on dsg cars we tried before buying a manual again... it was one of the things that put us off dsg given we live in a city of hills.
  8. My guess is that panel, or the console / ashtray they are mounted in can be pulled out and the ports will clip in behind... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001305581540.html
  9. Are they based in the units where Ginetta used to be?
  10. Any loud hissing noise when you try and accelerate? If so you could have a boost leak or pipe popped off (I drove our 2.0 tdi 4x4 with a loose intercooler pipe by the EGR once and it was dire but 'hissy'...)
  11. Looking at these advertised on ebay it looks like they are a push fit and held in by metal spring clips as per other skodas - so probably just need a good pull or levering out with a trim tool... 2018 SKODA KODIAQ Dash Dashboard Air Vents 565820951C | eBay
  12. When we drove the 1.4 dsg we found it was a bit lethargic and didn't really get on with the dsg. The manual was better and suited us well coming from a tdi
  13. The dash design put me of the tarracco... The kit is bette but I preferred the kodiaq as somewhere to be...
  14. Definitely no gas strut but as mentioned above ours used to lower as it got caught getting in and out the car.
  15. If it's Mansfield it'll be Rainworth...

  17. yeah it is a bit mad. Personally I think they are the future having seen / used them in Prague but here they are currently only legal in places where trials are underway and there is currently a big backlash from certain organisations representing the deaf / blind / partially sighted, so it remains to be seen if they are legalised nationwide...
  18. What you were planning wrt your original proposal sounds much better but the quickjack is probably better again as it won't entail messing with the floor. The only requirement seems to be a level floor that can withstand 500psi, which in new money woudl be equivalent to about a C4 mix concrete, so even lean mix C7.5 would suffice and what you have already will be well above that and reinforced as well.
  19. Agree with above - we had our Octy II for 14 years, changed numerous bulbs and never had an alignment problem.
  20. they are illegal on cycle paths too...
  21. Would agree with some of the comments above - we have a 1.4TSI and, whilst I was wary about it coming down from a higher power diesel I've been pleasantly surprised. And as others have pointed ut the JKodiaq isn;t about thrashing down back lanes - it's an altogether more relaxed driving machine, something at which it excels very well - even with a lowly 1,4/ 1.5 petrol!
  22. so is this user error or a faulty switch?
  23. Indeed - totally illegal for use within the public highway boundary (ie carriageway or footway). Probably good fun though?
  24. True but if the floor has some A393 mesh or similar in it then the bending strength should hopefully be there across the slab... Personally a 1m x 1m square pad 12" deep in mass C40 concrete doesn't sound adequate to me - I'd be looking for a much bigger slab with mesh reinforcement before I climbed under a lift...
