  1. Just out of interest and for reference, how often are updates issued? We updated our 2018 Kodiaq bolero a few months ago courtesy of this thread but might there be another update in the future?
  2. I stand corrected! that's a retrograde step and puts me off the thought of a newer model (not that I currently have personalisation but it would be nice!)
  3. It may be that the valve element (effectively a disc with a silicon seal arrangement, has also moved and 'rotated' within the drum of the valve preventing you getting it pushed back together. may be worth pulling it apart completely and checking / trying again.
  4. turn the steering full to the right, then you should be able to access the inner wheel arch and it's screws /fixings sufficiently to remove enough and fold the liner back/ up a bit to gain access to the washer bottle and pump. The fixings shoudl all be easy to work out and identify.
  5. yes - that's the diverter valve (the motor spins one way for front and the other for back screen and the valve blocks the pipe to the relevant other screen). In theory you should be able to pop that back in but it might not last... so a new pump and motor might be on the cards
  6. Yes I have seen he deals and I do get that it works for certain people.., you for example if your dar has problems. Its just not for me as I run my cars differently to most I guess...
  7. Not quite true... some of us live on hills in higher areas (eg the Pennines in my case) and often get bad weather / snow / slush and torrential rain - so whilst I very rarely venture off-tarmac, 4x4, combined with all season or winter tyres, is effectively a 'must' for us to be able to get out and about during winter. Having drive FWD and 4x4's regularly the 4x4 also brings with it a huge amount of additional stability in bad weather.
  8. Having test-drive both DSG and manual, before buying a 1.4 manual, I thought the throttle control seemed much easier on the manual, as did my wife... You could always try the 'linear' throttle response change in VCDS to see if that helps??
  9. Or buy one of these... https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=12v+extension+lead&crid=2FIMR47OPKRCE&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_2
  10. If you've tried three then its likely an issue with the contacts not making contact with the battery or a bad connection on the fob (eg one of the battery contacts having broken loose from the circuit board). I'd start by tweaking the contacts and bending them out a bit to make sure they push against the battery.
  11. Fair enough in your case i guess, but if buying new from stock even if someone gets a good deal i reckon they'll still take more of a hit in depreciation than they'll 'make' due to the current situation?? If someone was going to buy anyway then that's slightly different but selling and buying new 'just because' seems a daft decision to me. Maybe its just me...
  12. This one on eBay should give you an idea of where the screws are. The front one may be behind the black light unit that may itself need prising out to get at them. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2016-SKODA-SUPERB-ESTATE-INTERIOR-ROOF-LIGHT-CONTROL-PANEL-READING-LAMP5Q0951172/293507284653?hash=item445665bead:g:gM8AAOSwuxZeaQ1l&pageci=95390be8-022b-49e4-af76-68e54b0f510e&redirect=mobile
  13. Yes .. if yours is the same as other Skoda's it's one pump that spins in opposite directions for front back and has a small valve arrangement on it. Usually in the front left wheel arch behind the liner... About £15... As for the other stuff... Tyre inflation kit... Why bother and shockers .. maybe see if it does fail first as slight misting is ok and not a fail if I remember.
  14. Not sure why they would be replacing the wiper motor if that is working but the washer isn't... The washer pump is a separate item?
  15. Maybe I'm being thick but what's the attraction of selling? Is it people who change cars every few years who are Changing early to take advantage of higher trade ins and low finance on new, in the hope they get a good deal? Or is it people not needing cars anymore and selling? Personally we buy our cars with cash when they are a year or two old and keep for a long time, typically over 10 years, so can't see the point in selling at a higher price now but also having to pay a higher price now for a replacement.
  16. Is the whole thing dropping down? If so it sound like its not been screwed back in properly as I believe there are 4 torx screws that hold it in... One in each corner. So two at the front behind the panel that has the two clear squares where the bulbs are and two underneath the panel around the 'assist' button and light. Both panels should remove by gently prising them with a trim tool or small screwdriver. Someone on here has changed the bulbs to LEDs recently and had some photos that showed them but I'm damned if I can find it now.
  17. The other thing to remember, and my experience over 19 years ove being on here is that Briskoda is about more than just Skoda's... Its a real 'community', albeit a virtual, worldwide, one. That's why so many people stick around even though they no longer own a Skoda...
  18. That might just be a bit overkill for what I'm after...
  19. I know what you mean @J.R. the DSG and some Autos seem to have led to a type of driver that is 'all or nothing' and flat out on either throttle or brake. It seems to be the same with some of the middle aged blokes trying to regain their youth in certain vehicles as well...
  20. So here's a thing... Reading this thread has reminded me that I've got a pair of q acoustic 2010i sat on a shelf in the spare room. They used to be wall mounted in the dining room at our old house but we moved 7 years ago and I've never used them in the new house... I'm now thinking that I may need to invest in something to hook them up to for my 'home office' (aka the kid's room that happens to have a desk in it). Maybe a half decent micro system that doesn't take up too much space and can alos be rigged up to the telly that's in there...
  21. Yep fully aware that some like them and that there are benefits - my parents have had autos for the last 30 years and I've driven them all regularly... I still prefer a manual though as I find it gives more control and I actually like driving and the skill of coordinating hands and feet smoothly... But I know I'm in a minority.
  22. Ouch... I'd be trying a scrapper for that or eBay... Skoda parts have them cheaper and a rattle can will colour them easily... https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/565955109gru-left-headlamp-washer-cover-skoda-35614.html
  23. Oh dear... Looks like I'll have to change marques or suck it up then as I've tried a dsg and didn't really like it.
  24. On the mk 2 Octavia the flaps were just clipped onto the end of the washer spray arm, which was extended by water pressure. It was therefore a case of activating the headlight washers, grabbing the spray arm while it was out and holding it out whilst clipping the cover back on. I'd imagine the Kodiaq is similar.
