  2. HID's in our Octavia with projector lights were perfect so LED's might work. The Kodiaq is reflectors though so not really worth the risk.
  3. Yep they are very yellow... I had some in a Mitsubishi years ago for a trip to France when they were needeed and left them in when I got home... I did find them better in bad weather though! Interestingly I was out in the kodiaq again tonight and noticed how much worse the lights were than the OE LEDs in the Swift so have decided I will invest nin some new bulbs... Either the night breakers you have or the twenty20 equivalents. I'd like to try some of the twenty20 LEDs but am wary of the legality (or lack of) and the fit given the Kodiaq uses a specific bulb holder arrangement...
  4. If you have the climatronic try resetting the flaps... I think it's ignition on then press and hold the Econ button and the bottom left (or possibly right) button of the direction buttons between the two rotary controls
  5. Or just unplug the connection for the buckle under the seat. Two minute job and no issues afterwards

    Thanks... And yes I hate 8 on the laptop we inherited earlier this year even if it does help having a second PC around.

    I've no intention of updating but just to confirm @robt100... The pc you built us last year... You'd suggest not updating to W11 and to stick with 10?
  8. Thanks for the pictures... Those night breakers look good... Definitely whiter and they seem to be a lot brighter than the fogs for example... So I'm convinced!!! Thanks! Also those wheels look spot on... You've done a great job with them looking back at how they started.

  11. Check the switch on the front roof console that operates the rear passenger lights - chances are it's been pressed accidentally.
  12. Hmmm... we never had a gearbox issue but the rubber driveshaft couplings did start to fail...
  13. For info the 2.0TDI PD BMM in the Scout and 4x4 on a MkII is a development of the 1.9PD so is an 8 valve head and seems to be more reliable than the 2.0 BKD 16 valve PD in none 4x4 cars. However, as mentioned the 2.0 BMM does have a DPF (the 1.9 4x4 doesn't but the VRs does), albeit this can be removed and still pass an MOT with no issues as it's an EU4 engine and the DPF is tucked up at the back of the engine above the transfer box, so very difficult to get at and check at MOT. It'll also map to about 185bhp on a Stage 1 relatively easily. One thing to definitely check at a higher mileage on any PD engined scout or 4x4 will be the turbo to intercooler outlet pipe. The rubber bend has a tendency to split underneath (every 7 years on our old 4x4!) and as it's sandwiched between the bulkhead and the block it can be a bugger to change

Yep - that's pretty typical as they tend to rust from the inside out and can be prone to being worse due to blocked sill drain holes - so you start with what looks like a small issue on the outside and once you start digging it just grows and grows (been there done that although I managed to stop at the swage line that the Mk1 has!). Looks like you're making a decent job o the repair though!

  20. we have the 1.4TSi in a manual Kodaiq and it's fine. I did have similar concerns previously coming from a mapped TDi 4x4 Octavia but the little 1.4 copes admirably. Sure it's not a pocket rocket but can be fair hustled when needed and has had no issues heading up and over the Pennines with a full boot and passengers.
  21. Pretty certain that's only an issue for DSG equipped cars - I've not had an issue with either of our manual's that have stop start - (the Kodiaq and the Swift), albeit that might be to do with driver anticipation as well...
  22. From memory the glow plug light will also come on on some old models if the brake lights are not working as well - it did on our Fabia (I doubt that is your issue but hey it might be worth a check...)
  23. Ah yes I think you're right... I might be getting confused. We come to a stop facing uphill, select reverse and the car then won't move until we lift the clutch. If you then brake to ease into a space it holds again. Either way switching the autohold off sorts it.
  24. I think the only time we switch autohold off is when parking at home or in a tight space. The road we live on slopes and hence autohold has a tendency to keep applying the brakes if you are creeping back in reverse so we switch it off the park and then reenable it just before turning the engine off.
  25. To me that shows its not the gearbox but a dmf issue. Others may be better placed to comment though...
