Tailgate Leak
Well it leaked a lot again yesterday in the torrential rain we had... so today I took both tailgate lights out and discovered the right hand one looked to have a few water marks behind it. I also got a damp finger when feeling inside the metalwork to fish out the light connector block - so that's gives me the impression that's where the water has been getting in. I therefore cleaned up the rubber / foam sealing strips on both lights, applied a bead of RTV gasket sealant to the metalwork where the seals seat (easier than handling a light unit with uncured sealant) and refitted both light units. Touch wood the leak will now be fixed. For info though - on my 2018 SE there was no pre-fitted light wiring/socket/connector for the nearside inner light unit, which is just a dummy - so that's scuppered my plan to retrofit the higher spec inner lights from an SE-L to get a second revering light.

Rear prop shaft damper advice
Interesting... As those quotes were from April 2021 and for parts only. I did check with an independent re fitting and as noted they weren't too concerned having done a few A3s etc before.

Rear prop shaft damper advice
I needed this replaced on my Octavia. A febi bilstein doughnut was around £100 and fitting looks relatively straightforward. However Skoda will only sell you the full propshaft at about £750!!

Reversing light(s)
if it's the same as my Kodiaq and other current Skodas... 1. correct unless you've ticked a box for some sort of 'upgrade' (eg reversing camera) 2. not as far as I can make out

MG5 EV Estate: The only production EV estate currently available to buy.
Looks like this has had a significant redesign inside and out for 2022 as well. Edit... In fact the 2022 model looks significantly better and less 'dowdy' etc. When compared to the original 2017 design basis. The tech in the EV side of things is probably good .. it just needs a better purpose designed platform to put it in to.

What (if any) are the issues for Octy Mk4.
Just read some of the threads on here re the software issues with the Octy mk iv thatbare still being resolved or remain unresolved... Personally i wouldn't go near an Octy mk iv with a bargepole after reading some of them!

Glovebox carpet
Can't confirm as I have an older kodiaq but for reference speaker cloth is great for making liners (used it in our Fabia, Octavia and now the kodiaq

Was it very cold and did you have lots of 'electrical load' switched on (lights, heater, heated windows, heated seats etc.). If so then that's probably why...

Tailgate Leak
Yep. I recall a post on another sitelong ago suggesting finding leks byremoving trim and dusting the inside of panels with talcum powder so any drips or water runs show up... Im not quiteat that stage yet.

Tailgate Leak
I haven't completely ruled out that water is getting past the seal but it is very hard to tell as there are no obvious water marks or tell tales However, it does appear that water is present behind the interior tailgate trim as you can see water glistening in the 'join' where the trim and the metal of the tailgate meet at the lowest point of the tailgate to the right of the lock. That to me suggests water inside the tailgate. I also remember early on water running out from behind the upper internal trim when I opened the tailgate, which again suggests it's getting inside the tailgate

Tailgate Leak
Bugger... Heavy rain last night and water on top of the boot seal this morning. Looks like I'll be investigating the inner lights next...

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
Saw a black one of these this morning - it looked 'better' but only because the black paint and the front number plate went some way towards hiding the gaping snout 👍

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
Tried that @mac11irl and you're right it does help and I guess there are aftermarket bumpers now available to fix the nose...

she's teasing us with pics of both cars

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
that last vent is definitely a Supra... as is the suspension piccie. But the volume knob and hazard switch is Z4...
-
So I went and bought a Jaaaag
I 'think' it might be a Supra??? or a Z4? Actually given the BMW connection and 'selling to another BMW dealer'... it's got to be Z4... or a Supra! In fact I reckon she's been a bit sneaky as the vent picture is a Supra but the hazard switch is a Z4 so she's been deliberately confusing us with her new Wilberpog!
