  1. Possibly I'll invesitgate anything that might be dodgy if it ever happens again and thank you for giving me some ideas to try.
  2. No reverse selected because I tried it whilst stationary (engine running/switched off) and when driving along. Everything looked completely normal on PID and radio display but just no sound. If it happens again I still won't have a clue why it stopped working. The mysterious ways of electronics I suppose.
  3. Well, I couldn't get a cheep out of any source late yesterday afternoon and I was away all day today. I thought I'd investigate Feebet's suggestion and try the Radio, Nave, Aux, CD etc this evening, with and without the PID connected. Well, blow me down, as soon as I started the car, everything was working as it should. I'm afraid it's all a complete mystery but, although I'm happy now, I haven't a clue what caused the complete black-out yesterday. Thank you for your suggestions guys.
  4. I regretted that the 16" Serpens wheels were never (and still aren't) available as an option for an Elegance. When I ordered the car in February 2013, the 15" Auriga alloy wheels weren't even optional but luckily they became an option after a few days/couple of weeks so I was able to add them to my order. Your car looks very smart indeed in black, I must say. I hope Mrs Marky really enjoys it and keeps it looking pristine.
  5. It's almost as if I've pressed the Mute button (if there was one) because I can't get a cheep out of the radio. Have I inadvertently found a Mute button somehow? Everything looks normal and the CD is selecting tracks etc. This morning all was well but this afternoon I can't hear anything. I didn't change any settings between hearing sound and not hearing it. The car is just over a year old and there have been no problems before. It has the factory fitted 6-speaker system and the PID. Would anyone have any suggestions as it has to be something fairly simple? Thank you.
  6. You'll have to delete the "Soon to be" part now! Glad to hear that it arrived eventually and that you're enjoying the experience. Car:Soon to be Skoda Citigo 59bhp Elegance Greentech I'm a bit slow - I think I get the BJ part but not quite sure about DFK.
  7. I thought it was about time that I posted a photo of my Citigo and from a slightly unusual angle too. Click on pic to enlarge.
  8. Officially announced in the motoring press this afternoon! Skoda launches new Monte Carlo trim for the Citigo, with prices starting from £10,590 The Skoda Citigo is now available in Monte Carlo trim, priced from £10,590. Based on mid-range SE spec, the new variant is available as a three- or five-door, with the first deliveries scheduled for July. There are black design details featured on all version of the Monte Carlo, helping the latest version of the city car stand out from the rest of the range. Included in the changes are alterations to the alloys, front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser, grille and door mirrors. A sports steering wheel and Monte Carlo red/black upholstery make up the main visual changes to the interior, although Skoda’s PID infotainment system is also fitted as standard, featuring sat-nav, Bluetooth connectivity, a media player, and trip and vehicle information. Only one engine option will be offered at launch, the 59bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol currently available in the Citigo range. Paired to Skoda’s five-speed manual, the new Monte Carlo will manage 0-62mph in 14.4 seconds, whilst only emitting 105g/km CO2 and managing a combined 62.8mpg. The £10,590 three-door is £1,810 more expensive than the equivalent SE model, while the five-door Monte Carlo sees an identical increase and starts at £10,940.
  9. I wonder if the Brazilian double window switches are illuminated too??
  10. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Loeb and all the other top drivers do!
  11. They must have run out of money because the Serpens wheels would certainly offer a much better ride with with tyres fitted to them?
  12. How dare they compare the Citigo to the City Rover aka tarted up Tata Indica!! Yeuch!! Interestingly enough, I came across this link to the Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo whilst checking out the start of this very old thread. http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/citigo-monte-carlo/overview
  13. GaryS99 was spot on telling us about Skoda's prediction from October 2011.
  14. I believe that G-Tec stands for Gas Technology? I wondered what the red part on the fuel gauge in the video was. SKODA Octavia G-TEC The new impressive and awaited SKODA Octavia G-TEC is the first mass-produced Octavia with natural gas drive system, the ingredient of SKODA’s sustainability strategy. It comes fitted with the environmentally-friendly Green tec package (start-stop system and brake energy recovery as standard). Fuel consumption of 5.4m3 (3.5kg) natural gas per 100km with CO2 emissions of just 97g/km, becoming one of the 17 current models with emission values under 100g CO2/km.
  15. I can't remember if anyone has put this forward already or not, but if you look closely at around 2:25 the Stop/Start button is clearly on show which obviously means that it's a GreenTech.
  16. I'd be absoloutely horrified to find out that it was 'film' when I'd paid £650 for the Summer Pack (sunroof/sunset glass) but luckily I haven't noticed any air bubbles/peeling etc yet though, thank goodness.
  17. Yes, it would appear to be for "glasses" according to page 47 of the Citigo Owners manual in PDF form. However, did you also know that there is a notepad holder, pen holder, coin holder and card holder in the "Stowage compartment with cover on the passenger side" aka the glove box? I certainly didn't know that! Does anyone actually use the glove box for gloves?
  18. This might give you an idea of what's possible at the cheap end of the coil-over market? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-UP-2011-FK-AK-Coilovers-/251486939752?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVW|Model%3AUP&hash=item3a8dca2a68&clk_rvr_id=611154848343
  19. Sorry Chipsy but I have an Elegance not a Sport so can't help there. Come to think of it, I'm not sure that I've even seen a Sport in the flesh apart from one time at the dealership. I'm certain that one of the very helpful Sport owners will soon nip out with a tape and take your required measurements soon.

    G4S

Blimey, how many meter readers does G4S have?? G4S chooses Citroën C1 24/05/2013 Citroën has just delivered 437 C1 VTR models to G4S Utility Services, the UK’s largest supplier of data collection and meter reading services. The C1s have been acquired for a new contract with a major power supplier and will be used by its UK-wide team of data collection and meter readers. With this latest batch of cars, G4S Utility Services has now taken delivery of over 3,000 Citroën C1s during the last five years.
  21. Not all VW up!s have 15" wheels because like the Skoda Citigo they start with 14" steel wheels then there are models with alloy 15", 16" and even 17" wheels as options. The Citigo can have 14" steel or alloy wheels which can be upgraded (depending on model) to 15" alloy wheels. The (late) Citigo Sport had 16" wheels as an option.
  22. A friend bought a new 105PS Skoda Rapid Sport 1.2TSi on Thursday 13th March and it came with exactly the same bottle of oil.
