I just can't believe there are numerous threads running at the moment about 'psshhtt' and 'whoosh' and the fact that we're spending up to one hundred notes to achieve said 'psshhtt' and 'whoosh'.

Yours (noisily),

I can't believe that so many people have trouble using the search facility :(

1. bailey 'EVO' DV26 non recurculating

2. Unknown not far from standard ~180bhp

3. no ill side effects that ive notcied...

the search fuction is a great tool but not very sociable...healthy debate is good especially for us newbies

Having spent most of this week cycling to work (and therefore able to hear better) I'd have to say the 'psshhtt' and 'whoosh' are the sounds that buses and lorries make.

Not something to aspire to. Get a nice meaty exhaust instead.

If I had a 'psshhtt' and 'whoosh' I wouldn't hear it for the rattle... :D

Btw, i have no interest in "Psssshttt and whoosh" or whatever.

If i want that, i'l go buy a Scoob.

For the record

Forge 007 recirc

233 Bhp (Other tuners may disagree, but frankly, screw 'em ;) )

Runs like a dream. Goes nicely and doesn't make silly noises.

Totally Standard, no problems. :D

Got the new suspension fitted then did you? ;)

Been there, done that (like some others)

Have to say though, after removing hyperboost DV, Carbonio CAI and Neuspeed TIP and going back to standard, there is definately more 'lag' (perceived reduction in throttle response would be more accurate)

Oh, and less "Pssssshtttt and whoooosh" too.:rofl:

I don't know much about dump valves, other than that the standard one on my Smart sounds rather like an Escort Cosworth group N jobbie!

1. Bailey DV30 (recirculating type)

2. Octavia 1.8T; 228 BHP coiurtesy of JabbaSport.

3. No problems.

No big "psshhht" or "whoosh", it's as quiet as a maiden's sigh.

1. Forge Shiny Silver One (Don't know the model) Recirculating and reverse fitted. Universal Yellow Mushroom Filter from USA

2. Octy 180BHP

3. No Probs (Apart from squeaky ARB!)

Very nice pssshhht sound coming off throttle.

ps. tried venting to atmosphere but that = no turbo response.

1. Forge DV007P

2. Octy 150bhp -> 200bhp

3. No problems but very little psshht either (just fine by me).

And Q - have you joined Corner Carvers yet?

Don't play the innocent with me, young Uildjert :nono:

1. Metallic pink forge race with medium spring

2. say maybe denis's age multiplied by somewhere between 4 and 5

3. lots of wastegate chatter some whoosh and a smile.

can hit limp mode at any rpm in any gear... but thats got sweet f.a. to do with the DV... std ecu doesnt like 28lbs of boost.....

manual boost controller will fix it....
