fabia vrs questions

Featured Replies

hi all, this is my first post as have only had my fab (literally) vrs for a couple of weeks. this group was helpful though in seeing what people who actually owned the car thought and helped me in deciding to buy one.

i love the car, very fast, very quiet, good spec, looks great.

i have a few q's though that i hope people can help with.

what sort of mileage are people getting to a tank, under both 'normal' driving and fast driving? ive not been pushing it at all, a couple of hard accelerations to overtake, but nothing serious, and have got 400 to the tank. the fuel light had only just come on.

how many miles can you get with the fuel light on?

how much are people paying for insurance, and who can you recommend? im 24 and with tesco at the min, who were cheaper on my old car (peogeot 206 dt). ive got nearly three years no claims.

do the original tyres wear ok? i bought the car with 5,000 on the clock and there is plenty of tread left. fingers crossed for a lot more miles.

hope people can help, and that you like your vrs as much as i do

thanks

For insurance I find Frizzell very competiteve (sp?) there contact details will be in the links section on the site.

Try having a search for insurance and tyres and you will find a huge amount of information

Cheapest place I could find to insure me was Elephant.

I've done 14K with my tyres and there is still plenty of tread left.

Fuel consumption improves with mileage, noticed mine is doing really well now and runs really smoothly.

i get 415 mile to a tank, i usualy fill up when the light comes on ie about 40-60 miles left of fuel, i only do short trips though so my mpg is only between 35-45, i am happy with this as i only got 25mpg with my old car. I pay

Welcome to Briskoda didn't realise it was your first post

2000 miles to go till the 10000 miles service though

ive got 700 miles till 20k

not helped by a welsh road rampage... (john was holding me up tho  )

Drove totally differnet after it's service.

Getting bored now that everyone younger than me has cheaper insurance - must learn to behave.

cheers for the help so far everyone, much appreciated. cant believe there are so many replies so quickly.

found briskoda when i was searching the net for vrs reviews, help etc.

love the car, only seen two others in all the time ive been looking for them on the road.

think i need to review my insurance company though, as i just carried it straight over from my old car.

i live in cambs, regularly drive up and down m1/a1 so keep an eye out for a black vrs in the outside lane.

Welcome Jimmy9uk, I also get around 400 miles and fill up once the light comes on the car still has about 60 miles left in it, thats driving on both national speed limit roads and town driving at 30. Got my insurance through elephant

Welcome

I've had mine 5 months & 2weeks ( not counting really ) :0

Covered just over 8400 miles, engine and economy improving with age as engine loosens ( my Octy diesels were the same ).

Insurance is

My Toyos lasted 8,000 miles :(

The Pirellis seem to be holding up a bit better though.
