Do those going to this tend to have standard motors or is it more for the mentalists? TBH i am considering popping along if just to say howdy and perhaps get some ideas for more mundane (options to add' rather than modding in the truer sense of the word. However if it's all 400 BHP and bodykits i might get an inferiority complex

I also cant justify testing my car as standard as surely it will just show the normal manufacturer's figures yet am for some reason i cannot explain tempted by the thought of it and, at thirty quid it's hardly gonna mean having to eat beans on toast for a month. How much of a benefit is the 'diagnostic' side of things? Shold i ignore this and just see the main benefit as being able to get a graph to hang on the garage wall?

No not all 400bhp and body kits :eek: (Well a couple )

Main reason to test your standard car will be for further tuning so you will have a base figure(If you intend to add a re map or turbo.......)

You can also find out if you are running rich/lean or have any boost leaks.

If your thinking of adding a re map but your not sure what it's going to be like there will be loads of people who will probably offer you a demo drive

With the offer of cheap re maps on the day you may want to bring some extra money

Mine's totally standard but I'm still getting it rolling roaded to see just how many horses it's lost in the 90k+ miles its already done.

Factory figure should be about 179-180 at the fly so if it's close to that I will be happy. And as you say £30 isn't bad anyway and Canterburys only a 50 minute drive for me.

Insurance is preventing me from getting a remap until renewal time next spring but will be good to talk to IP and see what the remapped cars there are like.

I'm still quite tempted by a remap... Going to have to see how things are looking next month.

May end up popping along - Canterbury is only 20 minutes away - probable less now i've got the VRS . Dont want to be added officially yet though as things are very much up in the air in the coming weeks/months for me.

Also regarding stage 1 re-maps i was very worried about the whole idea...but it totally transforms the car and with negligible additional running costs.

Like my friends says it makes it in till a "real turbo"!! You really feel when it hits boost! I personally thought it was fast enough before, but i was peer pressured.....but i am glad as i am really pleased with the difference.

There remap on a standard 52 plate Vrs Octavia ??

I don't think they actually give out any figures but it would depend on what map you go for (generic or custom) and how much you are willing to push the car too. Based on other cars I have seen I would say in the region of 210 - 230. Figures don't mean a lot when it comes to PI maps, it's just the way the power comes in and holds right to the red line.
