Service Costs

Featured Replies

I've just had my first annual (10,000 mile) service done on my Fabia vRS. Quoted £140 but only charged £135.90 in the end. Seemed pretty reasonable to me until I discovered that all they seem to have done is changed the oil and checked how thick the brake pads were. Anyone got any comments....

Thats all the first service is if its a 10k lube, how old is the car?

But when you consider the oil is the best part of £50 you can see how it all adds up.

The car is a year old. The mileage is only 9,600 odd, but I didn't see the point of taking it in again in two or three weeks time.

So they done an annual service, so the cost is spot on.

Pretty similar price for my first service -had it done at 10.5k back in April at my local Dealer for £138. Given it includes just over £50 of parts (oil and sump). I felt it was a reasonable price for a dealer service. (especially with a full vallet and octavia vrs courtesy car thrown in).

"oil and sump", ah well at least there should not be any crap left now that the sump has been changed?!? A new filter might have been handy though!

Seriously though, a dealer's full valet is a PITA when you have a sunroof - their machine kind of lifts the seal at the joint, plus they keep you waiting for an extra half hour even although the car has cleaned the night before (to try to impress the MOT guy!!) and you told them NOT to valet it - still it keeps some of our new European chums in a job!

Lol not change the sump. Sump plug = couple of quid

I got my millers xfe-pd oil yesterday for £29.99 and a oil filter for £6. Clean my panel filter hey presto a service for less than £40.

At least I know what went in and what was changed

had my second service done this week annual inspection £150 plus brake fluid change £45 car done 10.000 miles tried to charge £214 for 20.000 mile service which they said included pollen filter and half hour longer labour (£64 to change filter I think not)

id say thats very cheap for a main dealer service, most of ours at work are £169 and our oil costs less than the long life stuff

Yeah reasonable compared to lets say Ford.
