just a quickie..... looking into changes the mrs fabia vrs speakers :orb_geek:

with the adaptors you can get is it 6.5s (165-170mm) in the front

and the back, after a quick peek?.... are the 4" (100mm) componants? or is it actually 5.25s? (130mm)

I have just fitted a set of pioneer TS-G1001i speakers from halfords £19.99 and they fit just right up under the rear side shelfs. I had to do a slight wiring modification but they work fine its just the head unit ive got problems with now:(

I just pulled my doors apart and fitted a set of Autoleads SAK 3103 adaptors. Have a set of Blaupunkt Velocity components on order.

Blaupunkt - Loudspeakers - Velocity - Vc 662

Will post some pix as soon as they've arrived and I've fitted them.

You can fit 6.5" speakers in the front doors if they are shallow-mount (e.g. CDT speakers). Tweeters should go in the original locations.

Forget rear speakers unless you want to destroy the sound stage.

New speakers should be with me on Friday. Thought I'd get the adapters in and silicone the door carriers while I'm waiting. The window rail that runs down the centre of the speaker hole sets the mounting depth for a speaker at 60mm at the top and 58mm at the bottom as far as I can measure. I think there's about 20mm clearance between the front of the adapter and the door card. Will find out when the speakers arrive if this is enough. The Blaupunkts need a clearance of 56mm without the magnet cover and 60 with.

I know this is a really old thread but i'd like to know how you got on with the speakers in the end and also, is the SAK-3103 adaptor the correct one for a 2001 fabia? I've looked online and whenever I look the only one that comes back is the SAK-3108 but it says it is only for >2003, nothing for 2001. Thought I would clarify before spending pennies. Thanks.
