  • I've stripped both cars, cleaned the estate and today i got the engine loom, abs pump, brake lines etc swapped. I had a mechanic friend over doing the clutch, timing belt, water pump, hybrid turbo et

  • Tell me about it, i'm always fixin them. So far in my house he has fitted a dimmer switch, something is wrong here.

  • You excited yet?

Looking good. I noticed in the snow shot above that the bumper is hanging out slightly from the wing. Both sides of my front bumper do this and I wondered what I need to do to hold it in place? Wasn't sure if perhaps the vRS bumper needed different mounting bracket as I re-used the one that held on my old stock bumper.

It was hanging out as the bracket was broken, since repaired and now fits fine.

Nice, so very nice  Not saying anything about wanting to drive her ;)

ok I do want to :D

I think I need to check mine then.... :o

Love the stickers Ross

What are the prerequisites for getting one for the back window? :D

Just a random question - How much did this all cost you WW_VRS?

I'd rather not divulge too much about that at this point - but the insurance payout allowed me to cover the purchase of the donor vehicle (I drove that for quite some time as well), buy-back of the vRS, and the bulk of the materials to get it running.

Things will become more clear on this in time :)

Ask..lol

Not the best quality stickers as yet, some better ones in the pipeline.

Good work Ross, liking the sticker on the battery...........

wiebo i want to see this in flesh when you get it back.

I may be away for a while first :P

(driving it ;))

Looks very nice

Ross, free sticker with every service ;):D

will say for a fabia hater i quite liked this :)

i was amazed at the effect of the black on the headlights considering how little is actually painted

Thought you only hated derv ones :P - do not diss the Mustang slayer ;)

I reckon it is the combination of all the little details coming together that makes it work very well :D

At least at the moment it should be faster than the ambulance :o - somehow I doubt that will be true once yours is sorted though ;)

both should be fun :)

For sure :D - both have tow bars as well.

You just need to have mine behind yours (on trailer)

we could have them facing either way with a tow rope between and play tug of war :D

 - I have this feeling I'd be going backwards, and unlike the time I had yours on the trailer, this time it is kinda handy to keep the clutch in one piece :P

Also I can't break mine as I'd need a fast getaway car then :o - I will do a tug of war with yours as long as yours is still in the current state

 thats not really fair as you'd have an engine and i wouldn't.

You have an engine Ben, its just not in the car yet.

How about this, we can let Ben have twin engine, there is a PD100 spare now ;) LOL

there's 2 1.8t's.

LOL nice :)

Right after all that irrelevant waffle a tiny little update. Not much time tonight but things done were

- Bumper removed (again) and mesh repainted as it wasnt 100% perfect. Inside of bumper painted so can't be seen through mesh.

- Headlamp wash system fitted inc new cylinders, nozzles and pipework. One nozzle is on back order at the moment, covers are off being painted.

- Trial fitted vRS rear skirt (for fibreglass its really good quality, thanks Alex for the info on that) now that has gone for prep and paint.

- Mocked up extension for tail pipe, this is ready to be welded in place once rear skirt is on.
