another new Fabia vRS owner

Featured Replies

Just thought I`d do my offical introduction post.

After selling my VR6 and speaking to some internet brokers I thought I`d give the UK dealers one last chance..... Down at my local dealer on saturday I managed to get a reasonable deal for what I was after with a waiting time of 2 weeks (sourcing a new one from another dealers compound)

so on its way is a Fabia vRS in Corrida Red (the best colour IMO  ), cant wait to start having some fun!

Couple of questions for Fabia vRS owners....

1: Any tricks for cleaning those wheels? I used a dish washing brush for the VR6 multi-spokes....

2: Anyone found anywhere to get some decent fabic protector for those seats?

Cheers guys

(as ever I`ll post some piccies when the car arrives, I`ll hopefully go to see it when she arrives at the dealer this week)

Well done on sourcing the car.

As far a cleaning wheels - I always use the Wonder Wheel kit which has a reasonably sized brush & container (aerosol lid!) included.

Fabric protector - dunno mate!

Wheel Cleaner, good old car shampoo and a decent sponge does it for me.

Fabric protector, the stuff you get in the Jewel Ultra Diamond Brite kit (look on eBay).

You'll love your vRS mate!

The wheel cleaner to own is MC2. Simply spray on and jetwash off for clean wheels every time. Do a search for it, and you will see many people singing its praise. Good all round household cleaner too when diluted :-)

Cheers

Hi Andy' date='

Welcome to Briskoda - may you spend many happy hours here ![/quote']

and you will :D

must say this forum is addictive!!!

1 - wonder wheels

2 - scotchgard protection available on line http://www.fabricdyes.co.uk/fabric_design.asp?fabrictypeid=9#info

3 - B&Q in gloucester sell the scotchgard Upholstery cleaner, but they are going to stop selling it in a week i was told.

assuming that you went to Robert Bamford to buy ur furby - how much did they sell it to you for? (sorry to be cheeky) - is red classed as a metallic paint?

I bought a black magic (metallic) for 11,400 - so don

Welcome to Briskoda :)

1. I just used car wash same as the body.

2. Diamond brite stuff that Josh mentioned is the dogs danglies.

You'll love the vRS and I must admit i've really warmed to Corrida red, still prefer Black Magic when its clean, its just not clean very often :(

hey guys, thanks for making me feel welcome!!

fowlerwelsh - I paid 11300... but before you explode, Corrida Red is not metallic so the list price is less than the black, so I`d say you got the better deal.. but hey I`m not mad, just cant wait to get back on the road! Yes it was Robert Bamford, I dealt with James the younger sales guy. They good for servicing there?

... and I found that website while browsing at work today too... going to order some Scotch Guard from them I think, looks cheap enough...

anything else I need to do or need to know about?

Ross, cheers for that, I`ve had a metallic black before (Scirocco GTII) so fancied a change, but I do like to black too, would have been my second choice! I know what you mean about it looking good when clean but not staying clean for long.

counting the days now!

U will love the VRS...:D

welcome andy:) the dealers scotchgaurd is excelent got mine done free

cos it was end of month sale, left my passenger window down one nite

it poured down & the cat decided to go walkies all over the seats, left the a/c on

full heat ror a hour to dry the car & the seats just brushed clean.

as for wheels:- use a tooth brush, a coat of polish makes them easier 2 clean

dunno about servicing yet - havent had my car - picking it up on the 1st of Sept. Marcel was the chap who served me - top bloke. Getting my windows tinted on Aug 27th (chap going to Robert Bamford to do it for moi).

One thing that worries me - my mrs - ive insured her!! aggghhhh!

but i have only driven a 1.4 85bhp before - should be a laugh to fly down the golden valley in the new vrs - overtaking those mini coopers. eat my dust biatch!

do you ever go to the crusie on Sunday night in Chelt? @ Sainsbury car park?

cool, will ask the dealer about some scotch guard then, guess its in their interests too, else I`ll be back for some new seats!

fowlerwelsh - I`m taking mine this month, dont care about waiting for the new reg, so getting an 04 plate. I know its only a couple of weeks, but as I commute to Bristol thats a lot of hassle for two weeks, so want to be back on the road ASAP, wasnt expecting my VR6 to sell as quickly as it did! I`ll look out for yours when I`m at the dealer next time.

my girlfriend will be insured on mine too, she was insured on the VR6 but was too scared to drive it! She is looking forward to the VRS as she drives the 1.4 Fabia so thinks its going to be just the same!!! I have warned her not to get too close to curbs with those wheels!

not been to the Cruise, not my kind of thing, didnt know where or when it was to be honest, only been in Cheltenham for a couple of years now. But if you`re going down one time in the VRS I might be temped to come along to meet up.
