How long does a tank last you?

Featured Replies

I think it's the driver struggling, not the car

:D

You should get way more than that mate, seriously. Unless all your journeys are short and in town?

Steve

i'm about the same as i think I dont quite fill the tank as I have the click click click issue at the pump when i fill up so never sure if its that or if the tank is actaully full. is the tank 45ltrs? most of my driving is town though.

400 miles aprox from 46 litres most ive ever had was 520 miles all motorway at sensible speeds

I just broke my record and got 1,000 kms out of a tank, 621 miles, woo hoo! :mw::mw::mw::mw::mw::mw:

I get 450-500+ miles per tank on occasion.

£20 of fuel has just lasted 2 weeks for me on half a tank, average mileage is down from say 250 a week down to about 220 every two weeks at present.

depends, but it's probably about 2-3 weeks for a tank these days

What?

Surely it is better that i clarify what i actually want to know? What use is it people giving me an answer to a question i didn't ask?

If you are incapable of reading the question properly, don't take it out on me.

how come you're not getting a strop on with those who don't drive a mk1 Fabia but have replied anyway?

Sorry, i don't need a strap on..... whatever floats your boat though mate!:P

I'm getting a month out of a tank now, no longer driving to work(cycling) so only really gets use at weekends and some evenings.

holy sheet i get roughly 350-450 miles to a tank, but never get anymore and thats 30 ish mpg i know i have a heavy right foot and quite often go a run to have a rather large blast !! its a fabia vrs btw.

I get 4, sometimes 5, days out of a tank :(

It might stretch to 6 or 7 if I waited 'till the light came on.

It's a 10 gallon tank, so at worst it's at least mid-30s MPG :D

Don't forget most if not all the people who are getting high 400's low to mid 500's will be using the expansion tank when filling up as this gives approx 50-100 miles extra range.

I am getting 520 and I have no idea what an expansion tank is or how to use it.

Likewise, i have never (to my knowledge) used the expansion tank. I fill until the pump clicks off and never attempt to squeeze in any more. I usually fill up at around 480 to 500 miles done, but i'm sure i could make to about 550 without running out. (too chicken to try though......)

Worked out mine today based on my last tank that lasted 2 weeks. 1st half of tank was motorway and A road, 2nd half around town. From a full fill (39.81 litres) I covered 361 miles which using a 0.21997 coversion gives me 41.21 mpg.

Not amazing but ok I think. If I was doing longer and more regular A road/motorway journeys then I would get more and also I drove for longer with the fuel light on, but don't want to risk that too much! Mind you, if that indicates 7 litres left in the tank, on that mpg I should be good for 26 miles with the light on.

7 litres would give you a lot more than a further 26 miles, looking at nearer almost 80 miles left.

The last time I filled my tank was the 5th October and I still have a quarter of a tank left :o

Usually fill up once a month, as I don't tend to use my car for work so it doesn't move much during the week. A shame, really. :(

2 weeks ish 2 was home main roade lasts 2 weeks back roade 1ish weeks in vrs love the back roade to harrogate to otley
