Need the above out of my 06 octy mk2 i had a wee look but it comes so far then stops even had the fuse box cover off and you can push it from there but it still doesnt want to come out .

I need it out because ive got a wee idea for it and my parrot display.

Not sure either as I tried to get mineoff as well to tighten my Parrott up and failed for the same reason...

I had my passangers side one out before, I ended up damaging one of the clips. Here some pictures of it which might help you in removing it. Its been a while but looking at pictures then your need to prise the metal clips (I broke what one of then sits on). Be sure to apply even pressure and come straight out, IIRC moving to one side is what caused the damage to mine.

You might find that its the end of the metal tabs that are catching hence the reason it won't come out any further.

Yep sounds plausible - I'll try a feeler gauge down the side or a small screwdriver to lever them

Make yourself a trim tool if nothing is available to buy in your area. I chopped a slice off an older cutting board and sanded it down to the right shape.

Sure beats the old screwdriver.
