Today was remap day!...

In answer to my own question - was it worth it?....Hell Yeh! :)

Really, really pleased!!...Jabba Sport were fantastic (when I eventually found the place..doh!)

I now know what people mean..the car feels so much quicker and responsive, it really does.

There must have been a fault on my TT because on it's max setting, the map on that thing was pretty much like standard but with this map on the Octavia it's just...well...awesome!

Pre map, my car made 192bhp on the rollers (with K&N filter and Milltex Cat Back) and after map it made (and I was shocked about this..) 239bhp with 230lbs torque.

The car is now mapped to run with V-Power but that's ok with me :)

Anyway, just thought I would let you all know and thanks for your previous comments.

Oh and Chris, if you read this..was great meeting you mate..hope you are as happy as me and had a safe trip home (and that your footwell didn't fall out when you booted it...lol - we were watching the Fast & The Furious in the waiting room, was quite funny) :)

Was good to meet you to mate unfortunatly my trip home was not as good as yours as it was in jabbas fabia sdi. They got my car off and were backing it out when the guy comes upstairs and says the thinks a CV joint is making a noise. After a bit of time up on the ramp and the front wheels not turning they said the diff was locked and that they would have to take the gearbox out..ect. So hopefully will be going back there tues or wed to pick the car up. Glad you liked yours and yeah watching the fast & the furious did provide some comedy value... ha ha

glad you happy mate. cant see the car on std wi jus cat back and pannel filter gettin 197. mine got 187 on a Dyno Dynamic RR the other week when he put std map on. thats with 200cell cat, CAI, FMIC and vPower.

if I was you mate Id go to another RR and try it there. i reacon youll be gettin 215-220 mate.

id get the FMIC too so you can count on the max power all the time and for a prolonged time.

Glad you happy though mate, It does change the hole car and still feels as smooth as a std car, just pushes you back in the seat more lol

I'm not exactly sure what the above means but I'm guessing it means I am talking crap.

I honestly don't think my car is producing 239bhp either..I am just saying what the graph told me, that's all.

That's why I put the before and after bhp...because all I was really interested in, was the increase between the two.

I also agree...it's more likely to be around the 215 mark

Ahh mate, I'm really sorry to hear that, that's crap!

I know exactly how you must have felt...Supra - Bottom End and all that...it's gutting :(

239bhp from just a map, K&N and a cat back, never in a month of Sundays. What happened to the torque??

Mind you these type of figures have been discussed time and time again on this forum, and whilst they are just pub figures, they do form some sort of incentive for others to think they are true.

Perhaps if, when having had these maps done, the car was then put onto other rollers straight away, then we might see the true figures, as time and time again these figures have failed to be seen on any others sets of rollers, and the other tuners that have rr days cannot all have defective rollers.

Not sure on the boost, sorry..the graph has a slot for for it but it's blank.

i lost 50miles to a tank with the same sort of driving after a remap (maybe even less aggressive aswell) 285 down to 236miles. (vrs by the way).

What remap are you running?

Its rare to see anything other than improvement or at least similar MPG. When driving normally

your car must have a problem with fueling as that is rubbish return.....:eek:

well it was running rich before the map. It used a litle oil since but maybe because it got put to the test, still well withinthe marker though. Code reader shows nothing wrong. Cant see any leaks and as for smoke i think its just because its cold outside.

might be worth checking mate as i get 250miles if i drive hard and if i drive smooth i get 350 sometimes even had 400 to a tank :thumbup:

so 230 is very low do you use 1st and 2nd hard ???

not really 1st but can second a bit, just the driving style i suppose, that tank was on short journeys, i did get 315ish on a long run (once lol). Im on my second full tank after remap and have got 240 so far but fuel light is going to come on any minute.

mine is the same if i get it guns in second,. i will see 250 miles

try and not give it guns in first or second let 3rd and 4th do the work :thumbup: and then see what you get out of a tank i.e change before turbo in 1 st and 2nd that will help loads :thumbup:

but hey if you have a turbo'd car with map what do we expect lol:rofl:

lol I get ur milage on half a tank. thats doin 70-80 on motorways. (more speed down hills lol)

and that inclueds town drivin. On just town driving I get 300.

curiouse mate you might have a fuelin prob or ur MPG is not right unless you work out ur self?

I work mine out myself and use the comp on dash for guidance. I can norm get 7.5 mpl all round. on runs I get 8+mpl

I've got the trial APR map at the moment having just had the cambelt water pump and major service done. It has definitely made a difference, but I think I'm too used to very fast cars to really notice the difference of 25bhp. Realistically I think the only way my vRS would blow my mind would be if it had an extra 100 plus. This is nothing against the quality of the map or the work Awesome have done, just a reflection on me spending a large part of this year driving a car that has around 350bhp per tonne. The throttle response is greatly improved and the torque spread is much more even. It's very very well developed IMO and I know just how hard it can be to get a map that works well in every situation.
