Oooo, theres some impressive sounding figures being thrown about in this thread....

Anyway, sticking on topic... :P :D

Great results for a plug in handset I must say, Bluefin is a great, convenient way to remap but beyond a stage 1 map Im not sure I'd put too much faith in it doing justice to the other upgrades. When I compared the two products (SC and Revo stage 1) the thing that made the real difference was the additional torque of the Revo remap hence thats what I went with. Give me torque over power anyday - however, if its accurate thats a great power figure though from the SC (think I got 230bhp/275lb/ft from the Revo S1 with the Forge DV and panel filter).

Are we to assume that Santa left you some Tuna Bruce?

Hi mate, He might have done :) I know by some standards it might only be a small tin of own brand tuna in brine, but oh has it put a little smile on my face!

Now a Briskoda RR day might be worth the run south if I can save up enough for that big brake kit!!!!

How come you were at Alan Jefferys, Simon? :) He's my nearest place with a Dyno Dynamics RR, although I would still prefer to go to JKM really, if only it weren't so far.

hes my local RR guru when im back home, plus he has sorted my last few motors out.

how much difference would you see between the two different maps i wonder,

with mine putting 241bhp to your 230bhp but your 27fIb/ft to my 249Ib/ft.

where would the differences be between the two, would mine maybe be betterat the top of the rev range with the more power and yours much better from low down. would love to try a revo stage 1 out

yeah as it says a couple threads earlier, bluefin will send the updated map via the net, all they ask for is the bluefin handset serial no, and what has been done to the car to make sure the map will make the best of it

If you are not satisfied with the remap, SC will also provide you with another map. They did when I asked them, had a bit of a shudder in 6th when accelerating hard from 120km/h. Just wrote a mail and explained the problem. Within minutes they provided another map.

Thanks to bluefin no problem, just return the old map (by mail) and you will get another.

Service is GREAT!

thats good, thats even better support than i thought, i was happy with just free upgrade from stage 1 to 2, but if they will happily iron out flat spots with that little hassle, you cant go wrong:thumbup:

  • 2 weeks later...

Just had mine on the RR this morning. I used the same RR as before & same Tech did the run. In totally standard form I was getting 211 bhp at 5,688 rpm & 218 lbft at 3628. After the Bluefin (plus Carbonio CAI & Milltec cat back system) I am now getting 260 bhp at 5,886 & 273 lbft at 2,545 rpm :D

Have to say I don't always go with the numbers, as i'm not into the "mines bigger than yours" stuff & how do you directly compare one RR again another, but I am impressed with the driving experience. The fuel consumption has taken a minor hit (well you don't get smething for nothing ;), of about 2mpg. This is is a direct comparison of regular journeys over the last couple of weeks, but It could be as much to do with me adapting to a different driving style as anything else! However I did a good blast up to Whitby & back in the New Year and it was a real pleasure! Driving up "Blue Bank" as you come out of Sleights was effortless and the run from there to Pickering was a joy. So if it has cost me a little in economy I'll live with that because of the gains in driveability & pleasure!

Now I seem to think some one on here once said "once you start modding it's difficult to stop!" SO... be warned, i'm now after a brake & intercooler upgrade, but guess it will have to wait until i've got that new set of tyres I need!!!!!:P

Hey, great numbers!

Was that with the bluefin stage 1 or stage 2 map?

I just got my 3" down pipe ans sports cat today and I also have a CAI waiting to go on with the Bluefin stage 2 map.

i am impressed with superchips as a hole. the results they give are pretty much what people seem to get. as with the fuel economy i think it is driving style, now im used to my stage 1 map my driving seems to have calmed down. and mpg gone back up. i think uncle bulgaria could hit close to 270bhp, 290bhpIb/ft with the down pipe and cat.

hoffmeister are you going to before and after your motor on RR. be a good comparison!

Today i ordered supersprint complete exhaust system from Italy for my RS. Also listening to your advices made up my mind for evoms not the aems cai. It will take sometime but we will see what happens :)

how much was the supersprint exhaust then, i am phoning blueflame tomorrow, he replied to my emails and confirmed they do mk2 vrs systems.

A word of warning on buying DP and CAT - The DP flexi is a very weak point on these systems so when you buy make sure it is going to be covered under the warranty. I know makefish had one replaced and I seem to remember that shifty got through a couple or three and I have heard of others. Miltek now supply the dogbone bush with their system to try and combat it.

It will cost 1600 euros for the complete system. I also talked to APR for the Stage 3 but it does cost a fortune  so i am leaving it for the future.

christs that alot with the current exchange rate, thats pretty much 1550-1600 pound

the miltek is only 1200 supplied and fitted isnt it.

Yes mate, but I don't live in UK. I live in Turkey that changes the costs for sure :)

ah, that makes more sense

I'm gona try and do the exhaust cheap, I got the 3" DP&Cat from Pipewerx today at £450......looks like a very well made piece of kit and having asked around aparantly Ian Birch who makes them is a bit of a Dub scene genius.

I'll then upgrade to the 3" Jetex cat back later for £409, should be able to do the lot for under a grand. However some threads I've read on the GTI forums suggest that the gain from the catback after the DP is negligable.

Simon, I'm not planning on before and after runs as that just takes too much time from my day. I will be getting this kit all fitted and then going to the Cupra.net RR day on the 24th to get some numbers.

Just need to find a reliable garage in the North East for fitting now :)

F****:thumbdwn:, now this doesn't surprise me with Milltek. I'm sure i'm hearing a slight blow from that area when mine is cold until warmed up:mad:

The flex in the downpipe is too short imo and therefore not enough 'flex' under load. The stresses caused a weld to break at a fixing point.

In fairness to Milltek they were incredibly forthcoming and a new section supplied and fitted foc

Ah so it's not the flex part that breaks? A fixing point for the bracket?

Does the dogmount cause any excess vibration in the cabin at idle etc?

Does the dogmount cause any excess vibration in the cabin at idle etc?

No not at all, no one I know of has ever complained about excess vibrations, it's well worth the small investment imo.

I've seen the difference it makes on an RR test we did a while back, my car had one and Chris's didn't and the ammount of engine movement without it was quite amazing. Needless to say Chris bought and fitted one a couple of days later.
