Buying a Fabia VRS new

Featured Replies

I've spoken to 5 dealers now and i'm getting mixed responses, some say the run was 800 in total and that its a 3-4 month for a new one to my spec, anyone know why the wait is 3-4months?

The dealers I've spoken to all say they can "get one" (from another dealers showroom I suspect), with the spec i want (just cruise and xenons), and they're pricing them at

interesting.....

was in horners the other day and was with a salesman who i've bought both my cars from. walked past a fabia VRS and i said, ' bet they're selling like hot cakes?' , to which his reply was 'demand is slowing down quite a lot and it seems to have plateaued' (?sp) for the time being at least.

I got mine from Rainworths Motors in Mansfield (Nottinghamshire). Really friendly dealership and they got me mine with Xenons, Cruise, Metallic and 3rd Rear Headrest very quick...

Placed order on Tuesday... Car was available on Saturday of the same week!

I got it on the Monday though as I was at a show that weekend!!

Think that was probably because there was one at another dealer to your spec, right now there are only a handful showing up on the system apparently, so short of that they're having to wait 4 months to "build" one specially

uhf if the only factory fit option you require is Zenons, phone round a few dealers for cars with zenons in the colour you require.

Once you have your new pride and joy spend a couple of hours with Big K and he will (expertly) retrofit cruise control for you, you will never know it was not factory fitted.

Going this route may get you the car you require quicker and/or at a better price.

How much does he charge though, as i'll have to factor that into the cost

Big K charges

Interest may have leveled off a bit in the vRS at some dealers, but looking at just new Briskoda members i'd say they are still pretty popluar.

I've just placed my order thro' an internet based company (tins.co.uk) who are far cheaper than the dealers. I went into my local dealer just before I placed my order, told them the spec I wanted (Metallic paint, Xenons & cruise) & told them the price I was quoted. The guy worked it out & basically told me that he couldn't touch that price. Delivery time was the same from both the dealer & tins (8 weeks).

Saved myself

This is all well and good but you really need to think about it crefully as cars are not always trouble free from dya one. I had a renault that spent more time at the dealer than on my drive Had I bought this car from an online dealer i dont think they would have really been bothered to deal with me or sort out the problems. Online dealers often also come with shorter warrenties. if you really haggle with your dealer and catch them when they need to make allocation targets you can save more than if you buy online. I have recently negotiated

I'm not going to buy online now, I like the feeling of standing in front of a dealer, even if it costs me more money!

I just want one!

I did some research before I placed my order. The car is a UK spec'd car, so it's not an import. It comes complete with full manufacturers warranty, so I can take it to any dealer for any warranty work within the 3 year period (or 10 years paintwork period). It can be delivered at the dealer for you to pick up or deliverd @ home/work.

The dealers very words were "If they've quoted that price, I would go & buy it!!!"

I wanted to buy from a dealer too, I think they will probably treat you better....

I spoke to one dealer (Worc) who had a Red Fabia VRS with no options (as i wanted) in stock, they wanted 11,400, i knew it had been in for ages but it sold just as I was ready to buy.... i spoke to DrivetheDeal, who wanted 10900 for one BUT couldnt guarantee the price as if they ordered one it could be a facelift/after price rise,

Placed my order with them a few weeks ago.

Just over

Sounds good to me too. Welcome to Briskoda JUT :wavey:

It all depends on your individual situation. My old car needed taxing , servicing , MOT , new tyres in 6 months ; plus possible price rise on the vRS. I made a sudden decision to change but only had about 4 weeks before all the previous costs were due. I therefore ordered a Fabia vRS with no accessories the salesman did say that ordering black would add to the time delay ( could have got red or silver in a week ). They offered a good price for my trade in , so I was happy with the deal that took about 3 weeks.
