Very Brave Dealer

Featured Replies

It seems that Alex Lawrie have been very brave and registered a 3.6 as a demo.

Skoda Superb 3.6 V6 4x4 Elegance 5-Dr Hatchback

Seems quite pricey

Who's going to be first to make an offer :D

Allams also have one as a demo.

That's borrowed from Skoda uk just for the day ;)

Indeed! I'd get shot if I ordered one...

I actually noticed this car on my system before Christmas from memory it's got every option under the sun and it's my fave colour combo Mocca with Ivory! Very nice!

I wish them luck with it, I suspect having the only one will actually work in their favour and I reckon it will sell relatively easily.

James, the link says finished in grey metallic with black leather.

You want brave... we registered a Touareg R50 as a demo at my dealer... surfice to say we sold it with 1200miles for £14K less than asking price

It also says:

Coming Soon Available from : 04/05/2009

so maybe not yet registered?

Brave, or.....

Alex Lawrie is my uncle.

Good guy, good garage.

May loose a bit of cash on the car though...

wot no park assist ?

wot no upgraded stereo ?

unless the description is wrong , which is probably likely

What's brave?

Not everyone is being hit by the current media hyped crisis. What are they supposed to do?

That will be when they are allowed to sell it after the demo period, 3 months normally so probably registered on the 4th of Feb.

You've gone all cynical just lately!

not cynical - just realistic. I have lost count of how many used car I phoned up about that were advertised on the Audi website only to find options listed were not fitted and vice versa. It was important to me as we needed a lumbar support, which is an option on most Audi's. Many descriptions were completely wrong. If you look at the audi used car site it uses the same format as the skoda one - presuamably the same web designers are involved. I dont see how they can get it wrong becasue if you put the VIN number in the dealers' computers you get a full listing of the spec the vehicle left the factory with. Somehow this gets lost in translation when uploading to the web !!

I am surprised a 2.6 was ordered without it being fully loaded. I am sure a 3.6 buyer expects all the options freom the brochure !

From the Autotrader description it looks fully loaded, I might pop down on Saturday and have a look at it as I need some spare door clips to silence a rattle on the Roomster

They'll know what they are doing I'm sure - and someone will get a bargain of a car as well...

I'm not so sure .... I had 2 cars from Alex Lawrie and the sales experience was great, when I wanted to buy a Roomster the sales team (at the time recently reshuffled) could not have been less interested. Then my Brother in Law wanted to buy a new Octy L&K (no PX), the sales manager did everything they could to push him into a stock car but he wanted to buy new, in the end when he asked for a quote on a new L&K he was told to go check the Skoda Website and go through the car configurator and that was the price.

Not drifting to far OT, but I would not be convinced that they do know what they are doing :) Alex was a top guy both time's I met him and the service department are still truly outstanding....... sales though

Hmm - All I can say is that sales-wise when I bought the Octy 4x4 18 months ago they had a high spec car at a very good price that was far better than anything else I could find and they were also more than happy to bring it over to me in Sheffield to view... so I was happy too! A million times better in terms of sales than my nearest local dealer who didn;t even get back to me despite being an established customer who had already had a test-drive or their 4x4!

I could not agree more, I had excellent experiences dealing with Barry on the first 2 cars I bought from them. I would not have believed how my Brother In Law was handled, had I not heard it with my own ears as I was collecting mine after a service. We drove to the VW dealer up the road and he bought a loaded Golf GT on the spot.

Anyway, we are drifting way OT now :)

Just booked my Roomster in with Alex Lawrie so am hoping to have a play in the 3.6 Superb whilst I am down there on the 19th March.

Hmmmmmmmm ......... I wonder :D:D:D:D could I handle life as a eunoch

  • 4 weeks later...

Well, I am sitting in reception now, and ................. it's sold, it went yesterday :( :(

Bugger, I was looking forward to that, still the suns out I serviced the bike at the weekend so I am off over the cat and fiddle this afternoon to blow the winter cobwebs out, that should make up for it.
