Just for fun - webuyanycar.com

I've seen this advertised on TV the last couple of days and was intrigued.

Plugged in my cars details (07 plate VRS, 12k) and got emailed a valuation of £7750 - not bad considering I only paid £550 more for it back in November.

No doubt the haggle process when you turn up and they slash the price due to a tiny stone chip or a scraped alloy is an interesting process :)

I know someone who took an MGZR there and he got a similar competitive quote to you, they walked round the car once and said OK and sorted the cash out, didnt even start it. very surprising and I have no idea how they make their cash, the cynic in me says its a good way to get 'money' into the system (Obviously for legal reasons it isnt;))

My dad sold his car to them recently, a very odd experiance.

We took it to a rented office locally where the paperwork was completed, the car looked at and not even a hint of trying to haggle. Can't remember the name of it now but they ship them out to a Car Supermarket, dad found his for sale shortly afterwards at quite a high price - more than we thought it was worth.

Im led to Believe there part of the Carcraft Group

Tried this my self not so long ago, got an email from them a few days ago telling me the value of my car had gone up to just under 10k

should be "webuyanycar provided its less than 7 years old " . com:)

Just done a quote on mine, 58 plate CR VRs, 5mths old, with 3,500 miles on the clock!

They quoted £9,855 (subject to inspection), nearly fell off my chair!!!

they make their cash selling cars on inflated credit deals to people with bad ratings.

Went to Carcraft with my mum when she was looking last summer, wasnt impressed at all, very poor display, cars not cleaned, scratched. Not grouped so cars just spread randomly over the car park, the Car People were much better.

They have an advert for Carcraft on there website.

As you can see, i've been a member here for quite some time but this is my first post.I am looking to purchase my first VRS, and went on to webuyanycar.com with a view of selling my car.I am happy with the quotation given.Does anyone know how trustworthy is the company?as it states that the money would be transfered into my bank account within 3-4 working days!!

As I posted above I went along with my dad and they were fine. Lots of people there selling cars, I think they worked on 15 minute slots. They will offer you a faster transfer for a small fee as well.

£1400 for mine... no thanks!

Thanks VRStu, will be looking into this then:)

why, because it was such a high quote? ;)

I hear my 08 vRS with 6000 miles is worth £3.50 now......

£400 for mine

They are part of the carcraft group, the Liverpool one is actually in the carcraft showroom. They pay pitance for old cars, considering this tho, I came off OK from them. Last year they quoted me 225 for my 99 Laguna, which I took. It might seem a crap price, but there was lots wrong with it, and its a salesman NOT a mechanic who checked it over, didnt even start it. i had put mechanically poor so they didnt haggle on the price (it did look better than it was underneath), I was in and out in 30 minutes with the 225 they quoted (minus admn fee of course). I did get asked by the sales staff if I was now looking for another car, I said no and was left alone. I think it will be a case of it depends on where you go and who you get.

I would bet if you put the condition as good they will go over it with a fine toothcomb tho to knock you down.

And the state of the Laguna? Was quoted £600+ to get it fixed before hand (with no guarantee that it would actually FIX the car), it wasnt roadworthy and had to limp it to carcraft on knackered wheel bearings, so all in all, I was chuffed with actually having a few noted in my pocket instead of being at a loss.

I would be very wary of Carcraft. My son and other people I know have had bad expereinces with them. Trawl the web and you will find many reports of problems.

Got an email back from them today saying that there is an increased demand for 'my type of car' and it is now worth £8915 - that's £615 more than I paid for it

If I hadn't Bluefinned, Bluetoothed and (Blue) tyre'd it then they might just have a sale :)

I got an email from them too telling me my car had increased by £615 too..........

funnily enough i did too :D

probably a case of IF NOT "rung us" BY +10 days THEN "Send email with > £" :D

I am pretty certain they are buying for large supermarkets like carcraft, then they sell them at a premium, tied to their own high interest finance scheme for people with poor credit ratings.

My brother is a bit of a ****, and has been sent down for a stretch and bought a Mondeo from Carcraft when he got out, paying something like a £99 deposit drive away deal. mondeo was probably worth £7k, he paid £10k and around 49% apr iirc....... but he is a coque and a waste of a good skin. :)

jUST HAD A WEE FLUTTER WITH MINE
