Estate?

Featured Replies

Does anybody on here have a Fabia Estate?. Most people seem to have the vRS!. I like the estate, looks kinda purposeful :)

But not as purposeful as the Octy vRS estate ;)

There are a few on here - seem to remember one guy has put a vRS front bumper on his here...........

Octy vRS estate is very nice but out of my price range :-(

Fabia estate on vRS wheels would look pretty good IMHO !.

You've hit the nail on the head there Chris !

lol :)

I want the best of both worlds a Fabia vRS Estate :D

I want the best of both worlds a Fabia vRS Estate :D

If they made one I'd have one straight away.

I've got a 1.9tdi elegance estate and I love it! Loads of room in back for dogs, bags of compost, camping trips etc, plus I like the curved over styling (dare I say, slightly like a merc estate). I had to pay an extra 700 squids for the extra room, but it offers far in excess of the space my polo had.

I want the best of all worlds - a Fabia vRS 4X4 Estate :D
And so do we all!

I was going to buy a 1.9tdi elegance estate (and was going to the dealer that afternoon) when I came across a different dealer doing pre-registered octy's of the same spec with a couple of grand off list price and bought one.

I think the furby estate is the better looking car , certainly better than the hatch , but the octy made more sense at the time.

Now if they introduced a fabia VRS estate...........

I don't know. Looking at the estate I was always glad of the hatch. I think the estate is very colour fussy. Get the wrong colour and it doesn't look right. Theres something not quite right about the rear lights too. They look a bit dis-proportioned.

In the words of Little Britain, "Don't like it"

And the worst thing is I dunno why? Its just something I felt the first time I saw one and have always every time since. Even a close inspection of a new one in my dealer left me with the same taste in my mouth (I knew I shouldn't have tried to eat the steering wheel). The car even had a nice bike rack on the roof. :D

I can't say I have the same feelings about the octy hatch/estate which is weird. Just like me then.

I think the Fabia estate is a great small estate - however when its loaded up it does seem a bit low at the back - probably because people I see driving them load it and use it as they would a large estate car.

Personally I think the fabia saloon has great potential with load space equaling the estate If I remember correctly. Heres some pics not a great example but a good attempt.

Sorry John, have to disagree. The Fabia saloon (apologies to any owners on here) is one of THE ugliest cars I've EVER seen! I hope it's dropped soon.

PS next worst would probably be a Focus saloon (why do they bother?)

Great car the estate, the wifes is an auto and has been a revelation! Its like the tardis, used it on a 24hr non-stop drive with a bed, cases and wheelchair in no problem!!!

How can anyone say that the wee combi (estate) is ugly.!!!

That little hump of a 'hatch' the hatch has is probably the ugliest thing about ANY skoda!

It wasn't until I had seen the combi that I decided I wanted, nay, NEEDED one - what with my expanding/growing family and the lack of space in my Punto. My wife would kill someone/thing if I let her loose driving a real estate car.She can handle the Fabia easily.I have to disagree about the rear lights too. I think it is one of the best looking and certainly most original small 'lifestyle wagons'. If you want to talk about ugly estates just look at the height/shape of the rear of a 206 SW

Yeah, a vRS estate mmmmmmmmmhh :D

Agree about the saloon, One of my colleagues drives a 1.9sdi Furby saloon.

It looks like some had a sudden idea " oh ! i have a good idea, lets put a boot on the Furby that should generate more sales "

It looks like an after thought. ( same as the focus, old astra. ).

As far as an estate vRS furby, how about

Take

1 Black / Red / Silver / Yellow 1.9TDi elegance

add, 4 vRS alloys, 1 remap ( supplier of your choice ), 1 shopping trolley handle.

and any other mods to personalise. ( throw in a vRS badge on the back to confuse ).

( I havent priced this option, but it is probably more expensive than buying the standard Furby, but hey, you then have a unique, quality car ). :D

I found two used estates which look quite good, both are stone grey metallic.

2002 2.0 Elegance

2003 1.4 16V Comfort

The 2.0 is only available in Elegance spec and would seem to be quite rare ?

I think I'm going to have a look on Saturday.

I wouldn't mind the Fabia saloon, structurally more rigid than the hatch, which has got to be a good thing ;)

The 2.0 is a crap engine go for the 1.4.......

Why is the 2.0 litre a crap engine ?. Isn't it the engine from the Golf, Beetle and Passat etc ?. I thought it was a good strong reliable motor?.

I have the 1.4 16V 100bhp in my current Polo, so I know what it's like but isn't it a bit small for the bigger Fabia estate?.

Wouldn't say the 2.0 litre is crap, but it's quite a lazy engine and does not feel like a modern 2.0 litre engine. I guess it depends what you want, but I would seriously consider the 1.9 TDI as it has plenty of low-down and mid-range grunt, with similar performance to the 2.0 litre but 50mpg fuel economy ;)

Chris

I got an Octy estate, its gone into hospital today (dealers) while I was there I picked up the brochure for the new octy, and i like it, hope they hurry up with the estate version

:) :) :) :)
