Facelift?

Featured Replies

Just a quick question - Does anyone happen to know when the next facelifts are due for the Octy and the Fabia?

I heard the Octy was due for a facelift in early 2004....

Same here on the Octavia - UK by Autumn 2004 - but not a facelift - a brand new model.

I'd like to think the Fabia can't be bettered, but I know nothing of a facelift for them.

Hi all

Yes an all new Octy is due sometime in 2004 , I havent heard of any facelift due for the Fabia , it still looks quite fresh tho considering its been out since V reg. As for the Superb , I think that is not to be replaced when the current model 'dies' , so get yours before then if you want one!

Fabia facelift and new Octavia in late 2004. No Superb after 2006. Pickups and MPV's on the way :(

Oh, and don't expect an RS or 4x4 Octavia before 2007, just plain 1.6/2.0 models. Maybe and FSI in 2006.

They'll ditch the underpowered 1.4 Octy?

And no more Superb??:(

If the head peoples at VW think the Passat is the be and end all of family cars then..oh dear, unless they intend to other the Superb back to the UK buyer as its original form, the stretched Passat.

If they dont then me thinks the VW group of car ownership with me will come to an end.

Cheers

They'll ditch the underpowered 1.4 Octy?

Forgot about those. Apparently not.

As for the Group planning, if Piech (spelling?) was still head, even the Tudor would have seen the green light.

I forgot about the Tudor !!!

Er - obvious question for the dummies - what's a Tudor? :o

I'll echo Nick's sentiments. what is it, apart from an old fashioned style of house?

Aha - doesn't look bad. Why the slightly ironic remarks about it then? It looks like an even bigger Superb - can see that maybe there was no market segment for a really BIG koda - hard to persuade the drivers of big saloons that it would be a serious contender.

The Tudor's not a saloon. It's a coupe and a really big coupe at that (Tudor = Two door?). The size of coupe that only Mercedes seem to make. Only thing I could see it stealing sales from is Volvo C70s.

No New RS till 2007????...That means I will either have to by another brand of car (2nd hand WRX , EVO , TT Quattro or Boxster) or keep my current car for 6 YEARS!!! My god , my current record is 2 yrs 4 months (the 280 Capri)..this may require serious willpower!

A half timbered mini traveller...

get a mk4 capri. bet u regret selling the 280, i may be selling mine once i get the vrs

I read in Automotive News recently that VW/SKoda may do an about turn on the Superb, sales have picked up considerably since launch and this is helping to keep it in production.

As for the current head of VW, Pitschreider ( I think is how it's spelt) let's not forget he is the ONE and the SAME man who on the day of the Rover 75 launch publicly raised concerns about Rover and build quality, he did the same thing with the Superb?

The Fabia is due for a facelift I read somewhere in 2004/2005, including a revised front end and comprehensive revisions to the interior, in particular the dash, which has been criticised more recently as being rather lacklustre against new rivals. Other than that I think the revisions will be kept to a minimum.

The Octavia is due for complete replacement in 2004, and will share the brand new Golf/A3 platform. Being all new the changes are anyone's guess. Personally I think they should ditch it, and produce more Superb variants, to include a hatch and estate, and a cheaper price tag.

I wouldn't buy anything as big as a Superb, or pay the price. The Octavia's the right size for me....
