Shouldn't need an oil flush - can often cause damage :thumbdwn:

Flushing a brand new engine?

Why?

I just assumed that it is the thing to do, bearing in mind since 1k miles ive given it a hard drive.. Oh and occaisonly when it turn it over, a dusty smoke exits the exhust!!

Oh and occasionally when i turn it over, a dusty smoke exits the exhaust!!

normal  and as has been said above , don't use an engine flush ever on a PD engine , and i don't think the dealer will care if you've changed the oil between services , as long as the correct oil has been used

this is good to read! mine is a 53 reged in jan 04, done 72k. thought this may be unique. Plan to run until gets to 150-170k then see what is out there.

89.5k This morning!!

Bought it at 28,700 in August

Now done 31,500

i have a 1.4 8v fabia classic with 119,234 miles on the clock. appart from a new clutch it is still running incredibly well - and my uncle who had the car before me treated it like and absoloute turd the entire time he owned it.

it just goes to show how reliable and tough these little cars are even though mine has a skoda engine!!

My 53 reg 1.9 TDI is now on 70K, hoping for at least 200K

My 2001 Fabia 1.9TDI has doen 126K miles........still goes well!

My other cars have done a few miles as well! My 1989 Fiesta Diesel has done over 200K. My 1997 VW Passat has done 176K and my 1996 VW Transporter has done 211K.

All keep going well if you look after them!

I did see a 1.9SDI Fabia with over 300K on ebay a few weeks ago and it sold for about

Last time I looked our Fabia 1.9TDI Comfort Estate (2001) had about 115,000 mls on the clock and counting!

04 reg Fabia VRS on73k.. picked the car up on the 9th August with just 63k on..

10k in 3 months :( .. 40k a year.. 200k for 5 years :o

Presently I'm a few miles shy of 143,000 miles on my 2001 PD100 Elegance.

I've only put about 15k on it in my 2.5 years of ownership, but apart from a noisy front wheel bearing, leaking heater pipe and a duff alternator it's been utterly reliable. I do have an ongoing problem with the alarm, otherwise the electrics have also been faultless.

I can also report that over the past 2.5 years of admittedly hard yet sympathetic driving:D, I've averaged just over 50mpg (calculated on every fill and logged - I can be a bit A/R!). The engine uses absolutely no oil between services, front tyres appear to be lasting ~20k miles, the interior is still excellent with no rattles or squeaks, the A/C works perfectly, the exhaust emissions are very clean and my MoT man is always amazed at the overall condition given the miles. The performance has always impressed anyone who's travelled in the car and has surprised many others on the road - even more so now that I've just fitted a Dragon tuning box .

It has been and continues to be an excellent everyday commuting car. My only gripe is the severe depreciation with it now being valued at about

224k on the Fabia Estate ;)

i bought my car(well picked it up)from the garage 2 years ago today(5 nov 2005) with just under 15,000 miles on the clock and it now has just under 63,000 miles on the clock (most miles ive put on any car that ive owned)

My 02 TDI was bought in March with 70k and now has about 83.5k.

hi everyone just bought a 51 reg tdi fabia with 174000 on the clock but its developed a steering fault very heavy with yellow warning steering wheel light the chap told us about the fault it was ok for about 2000 miles but its come back and not gone away any solutions to problem is it pump sensor fluid was a bit below sensor stick but topped it up but still no joy any help please

230k on the Fabia Estate ;)

OK I'm impressed!... All hail the one with the most mileage!;)

I didnt do most of the mileage, but adding to it for sure hehe :)

Bought my Fabia Combi 1.9 TDI from new 5th December 2006, and am at 26K miles - have recently gotten a new job, so now do around 40K miles a year.

Have had box on for the last 15K miles, no problems.

89.5k This morning!!

Ooooooo 99770 thismorning :D

I'm up to 125,600 now on a Y plate 1.9 Tdi Comfort.

My 05 Fab VRS has 54k and runs and looks like new bought it on 52k and really did not put me off as i no they will run forever. got it for a really nice price and FSSH

I'm ticking past 65k on my vRS, it's 3 years old and no problems yet (touch wood) Will be doing 100k in 5 years, thinking it will go on forever though!!
