AUB 16V 1.4.

Done 72k! Engine is perfect, infact, I've done the last 20k and it seems to be getting better and better.. 2 previous lady owners.. don;t think it'd reved over 3500revs!

tend to sit at 4500 revs on motor way trips (it's peak torque on the 1.4 100 bhp's) Seems to be doing it the world of good, it's so much happier to rev!

However.. over last two years it's had.

Steering pump & sensor. temp sensor. break pedal sensor. 4 tyres (a given). washer just issues. front end bushes. belt at 60k (another given).

now the computers playing up.

i'm viewing a vrs tonight, and tomorrow! Yay! lol.

1.9TDI ELEGANCE Y REG 2001 118K ON THE CLOCK

Had a new turbo And thats all there has been major everything else has been expected parts wear and tear

Just bought a 2003 fabia 1.9tdi elegance estate - 80k on the clock. Full service history, new cam belt at 60k. In very good nick. Engine seems to be in good order.

My engine has now ticked past 74,000. Now bad considering that 67,000 odd miles has been spent tuned up to buggery.

it was a 2001 reg, one lady owner[/i']

Isn't "one lady owner" used-car-salesmen speak meaning "had a replacement clutch" ... ?

"2 lady owners" means "had one replacement clutch, needs another..."

If any females are reading this, I am, of course, only joking ....

i just coming up to 120k in my vrs

mine only has about 23k on it which i thought was high for its age it is i suppose lol

My Fabia (1.4-16V 2000) has very soon 180000 km (about 112k miles) and still running. During the time I've owned this car there have been several basic problems. Few parts needed to replaced: ecu, egr valve, electric window element etc. Once all the motor oil came out because of cold weather (-20 Celsius).

Right now biggest problems are shaking idle and oil loss (2l/15000km).

Girlfriends 1.4Mpi 8v has 94,000 miles on the clock. Had to replace the radiator last night in the dark as it sprung a leak and Rad-Weld simply wasn't up to the job any more!

Unfortunately it now has the flickering lights and intermittent PAS motor problem, probably gonna change the battery first. Also needs a new Oxygen/Lambda sensor, as i've been told by Scantool.

Other than that, its not running too badly!

My fabia has covered over 77000 miles, I have owned the cars since 2006, usual problems including battery, bushes and that bloody air con temp sensor. Now its using oil, and there is a lot of sludge on the air inlet and throttle body, I'm thinking piston rings?

Think its unacceptable for a car with less than 100k to need piston rings, I'm a student and will not be able to afford to get it repaired.

********.

247k now ;)

My 2000 W Fabia 1.4 16v Comfort had 76k in April when I got it, its now on 82k

SWMBO's 2000 1.4mpi 8v Classic is on 83k, was on 42k when i got it in June 06

up to 123000 now

247k now ;)

Wow - That's over double ours at 118k mls!

We were headed in that direction at one stage with 25,000 miles a year due to the wifes 450 mile a week commute but she then went part time and has now given up completely so it's tailed off.

247K is impressive though!

Me thinks that might be a combined mileage of old engine and "new" chassis ;)

My car is now reading 78,000 miles. That means the full mileage is now

64,000+78,000-7,360 = 135,000 ish.

Obviously NOT running the original engine, or much else original for that matter :o

Nope - that is still original at the moment :)

Now at 119k on a 55 plate (Feb 06) VRS from new. Only issues have been replacement front bushes (got to almost 100k miles before finally driving me demented) and gearbox mount (replaced under warranty early on). Holed intercooler recently (stone damage) and broken grille (deer and pheasant hits in last month). Company car so no remap which must help longeavity. Plan to run to about 140k/150k so should be a good test of turbo - longest I've ever kept a car - mainly because there's not a lot of other options around - almost given up hope on a mk2 vrs and it looks like seat are similarly far away from a high power diesel version of the new ibiza.

I bought my VRS back at the end of Feb this year with 74k on the clock, and it's now just gone over the 81k mark. It is a '54 reg.

Sunny

Soz 246k - but will be 247k soonish ;)

Just reading the other thread about the vrs which has done 205k miles (fairdoos), and thought it would be good for an update...

I'm fast approaching 89k without any major problems, other than a new n/s front wheel bearing 8k ago and new wishbone bushes.

Still on original clutch and turbo. New front discs and pads i fitted 40k ago still have plenty of meat left.

Bernard Matthews bootiful:)

How's everyone else doing?

2000 'W' 1.4 16v just over 85k

My vRS Fabia is just coming up to 206,000 miles as it is used as a driving school car. No major issues apart from new alternator, new clutch and DMF, numerous sets of pads and discs, broken wishbone mounts (several times), and a failing rear wiper motor. Oh yes and the heater blower motor grinded to a halt last week, but now fixed. Overall, very pleased, would not consider any other car either for myself or for driving tuition. SAJNA
