Masking out number plates...

Featured Replies

Or a Superb :D

You cant clone something as exclusive as a Superb.. :finger:

As for the CC cameras, from expierience they only take los res pictures of the plate area of the car..never the driver, or even whole front of the car. Oh, and 1 last thing...the penalty notice only has black and white pictures, 1 of the frontal plate are and 1 of a plate close up.

never the driver, or even whole front of the car.

IIRC, they take a close up B&W of the plate, a colour of the front of the car and a colour of "street level" with the view to getting an image of the driver...

TAKE NOTE....not on the penalty notices I have had

Just occurred to me the other day - when posting photos or referring to other cars by their registration numbers' date=' why do we mask out bits to avoid identifying them??? What *IS* the point?

I mean, it's not like we can't just go ANYWHERE and find a car/make/model/reg number, is it??

[/quote']

Common courtesy, a dying trait.

It's a Pain to sift through 200+ pics, which is probably the average number of pics i take at a large Briskoda meet, but i do it because some people (me included) object to having their car identifiable from the site.

I also expect the same courtesy from others :)

Anyone is always welcome to unedited pics of their car taken by me, all it takes is a PM with an e-mail address. ;)

I'd imagine they wouldn't send all the images out unless you were contesting that you weren't actually driving the vehicle...

Rob.

In that case' date=' just pop over to your local Skoda dealer, and search their forecourt for a similar car. Not that difficult, or time consuming.

I'm pretty convinced not to publish my reg or anyone elses reg numbers, but the point I was trying to make was that if you wanted another reg number, it wouldn't be difficult to find one.

If you live in an area with a couple of Skoda dealerships within 15 miles of each other not to mention the countless 2nd hand dealers, it won't take you long to see another car of similar appearance. Unless it's a Seat Arosa Sport.[/quote']

Yes but why go out in the rain when you have the powers of the internet. That is the point!

Pah! That's the Superb owners sorted then :D
Jon, presumably you use the numberplate from a battery milkfloat for your taxi? Or are taxis exempt too?

Please feel free to clone mine if you wish! :D

Denis,

You appear to have red paint on one of your wings. Would you be trialling a new colour-scheme ? :D

Thats not red, thats Pink. Perhaps Dennis is taking Pride in his choice of colour, and moving away from a less than Dynamic Blue and over to Blushing Pink. :D

:rofl: I reckon the whole left hand side's covered! :D Maybe its some kind of red flame chav decal going all the way down the car? ;)

The sharper-eyed members - and we now all know who aren't - will be able to see that the red is the reflection of the rear of a red Felicia. :finger:

Someone must have been using this site' date=' seen the photo of his car and decided to clone the reg number. Ain't that right, CJ ;)

WHAT PICTURE??  Only picture I've seen showing the timing strut, was with the plate removed!

If you've got access to it, please let's have a look, but if poss, without the plate on show..otherwise forget it. Got me worried now.

Who/where did it come from?

You better start searching Sherlock - get there before the warranty gestapo do ;)

You windin' me up you tricky cheeky monkey!

If you are, then you better watch out, 'cus C.J. MIGHT just be about, on the 28/11!

Plans progressing nicely, just a certain Mrs C.J. to win 'round now! ;)

I was sure I had removed the plate, you had me double checking then. yes i had. Its a common curtesy thing really.

Don't worry Tracey. I remember now anyway...I took the plate off so the strut wouldn't damage it.

Any more piccies?

Does it really matter why you should do it? You just should as the end of the day it's not your car and you have to respect over peoples veiws. I for one dont really want to have my number plate splashed about everywhere!

As for the pictures about fines/speeding. They do send you all the copies as I believe they have to by law, if they didn't I dont think they could use that in court (though I probably wrong). Though I dont know what the pictures from a front facing camera looks like and I dont ever what to know!

If anyone would like an Idea of what the pictures from a speed camera look like then PM me and I'll send you copies of mine

It's a picture of a car where you can see the driver's face...or the sunvisor/cap they have obscuring it...

Just a little story here for you:

My dealer know i am a member of briskoda.. not because of the sticker (i used take it out when going to dealer) and ive never mentioned it to them... it was because someone at another dealer of the same franchise worked out who i was from reading the site. (Rather embarassing for me as one of the loveley sales lasses at my dealer saw what people had wrote about how tasty she was :o )

SO.. chances are they know (or can find out about) everything ive been up to/mods/events..

and theres nowt to stop the police/scallys/thiefs doing the same thing.. altho its harder for the non-official organisations ;) to do so if theres no reg plate.

Colin, there's enough information about you and your car in your Profile for me to work out your inside leg length - ie 32
