Picked it up this morning

Featured Replies

Picked up my new vRS this morning, bit of fannying around while they swapped wheels over. I specifically asked for Contisport II tyres and it had Michelins on it when I arrived. Took 'em an hour and then I was off. Did about 150 miles visiting and showing it off. Great first impressions, plenty of poke despite my 3000 rev ceiling. Handling and ride not as tight and tidy as my Xantia Activa but entertaining enough and 45 instead of 30 mpg is fair compensation I reckon. Acceleration in top and 5th is great and will make a very nice motorway drive, I think I'll particularly enjoy annoying the numerous BMW/Volvo/Boy racers with that instant torque. Looking forward to a loose engine and then some tweeks!! :)

:woohoo:

Excellent news. Enjoy :)

Michelins?

Hmm...usual spec is Contis or Dunlops.

Enjoy :)

Or Michelin Pilot Primacy... :)

Since when ?

Dunno...I know some of the Fabia owners got them with their cars though...

Who decides what tyres go on the cars?

Rob.

Ahh, i keep forgetting about those little Fabia thingies...

As for who decides, it seems to be entirely random.

All the Fabia vRS's bar one I have seen have had Michelins on. We had one in at AmD that had the conti's on, but not seen another once since.

It's easily done... ;)

I got mich with mine... dont like them.. goodyear much better esp in wet

Got Contisport II tyres with mine, I reckon it is a random thing. Lucky really, I prefer Contisport to most other tyres. Have fun Blueheart :boing:

When you look at the German Reifentest for the Mich or Conti 2 tyres. The Mich grip a lot better in both dry and wet conditions they last longer to. The only thing is that they are noisy. Germans can't be wrong can they.

As long as you don't annoy other fellow Skoda drivers on the motorway blue ;) As for tyres, my Dunlops are coming up for 50000 miles at the rear. I only had to replace the fronts Dunlops at 32000 coz I got a bulge in the sidewall.. otherwise I'd have probably got about 35000/40000 from them. I don't understand all the different makes of tyres that go on cars across the range - it seems to more varied than the weather..

Enjoy the car though..

Does your car hover? 32k out of fronts is way good. My Bridgestones on the front are 50% down after 11k.
