A big thankyou to Ben for a cracking evening and for the promise of a drive in his car, asap.

Thankyou to all of you, another great evening. Glad you enjoyed the choccy cake, sorry Darren, I didnt have any either!

It was worth washing the car in the rain @6 too! as Magnusson said 'ive started so ill finish'

! 'Oh and just in case.. . . . . . im not 40 yet! thats in years to come hmmm

TEE HEE HEE

Is that you driving the 31?

He does look strangely familiar!

Oh and thanks Mark ;) How did it go down the dual carriageway? I'm not sure if you were hammering it or not (but I suspect not).

When you pulled up on the outside I was the filling in a mk2 mapped sandwhich:rofl:

I had stopped and was actually in nutral so you and nick (I think it was him) caught me out off the line. I was very impressed with Nicks car. Yours was as I susspected, very very quick. To be fair I couldnt catch you till I got into 3rd and by 4th I was actually braking so I could stay in the inside lane and not undertake you:cool:

The weather was far too bad to push any harder so I was happy to stay where I was and let you lead, especially as I dont know the raod at all.

And Oz you were on top form, full of energy. Anyone would think you didnt have any kids:eek:

The energy came from the rush of sugar of all the cola that was supplied to me:rofl: I was bouncing, but also tiddling all night:D

Hey Mark. It was rather fun wasn't it, if a bit short :) . I was concious of yours and Ben's brakes as we got closer to the roundabout after experiencing them earlier in the evening. Oh and I'm not 100% sure which of you it was, I think it was Ben had some great exhaust flame on one of your changes :) .

Can't make this now guys...sorry :(

I was there last week with the proper hardcore Skoda enthusiasts

Hardcore ?

And you let a little bit of rain put you off ? ;)

nb - I'll take that back if it was anything serious :(

It was good fun. By the time we got to the roundabout both of us were slowing at a very steady pace so no hard braking required.

From that point at the lights yours was very impressive, I would say quicker than mine off the line.

The flames might be me. My brother said the same last week when we went out for a drive and he got upset because he couldnt get close to overtaking in his M3:rofl: He said I had flames coming out the exhaust:D

Would love to see it. Might have to get someone to follow me with the video camera some time.

Hardcore ?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Semi-hard then (oo-err!) :D

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

There was a vicious rumour that Tish was trying to find someone with a semillon, but no-one else was drinking wine last night ;)

There were quite a few of us who had large cokes though

Also Mark thank you for the ride in the 4x4 great motor, and for the demonstration of the Porsche brakes,

these are high up on the shopping list (but unfortunately below getting married, or so i am told :(:( )

well hope to see you all again soon

p.s Ben i will be in touch asap regards a evening with vag .com (and possibly a remap)

Looks like we missed a good 'un.... I was having loads of fun at work though dealing with an issue that at the last count had caused well over 4000 minutes of train delays. :P

Hopefully we'll get along next month.

Cheers

Dave.

Aaah, now I thought I'd just been unlucky with the traffic light sequence, as I only left a few minutes behind you three, then you'd all disappeared out of view.

hmm vicious rumours eh, wonder where they came from?

and I bought a cake too and the chauffer on my birthday,,,,,,,,soft touch I think

time to get tough! roar

time to get tough! roar

The way you man handled the gazebo at Chatsworth, I wouldn't want to pick on you:D

That's going to be an image that I can't get out of my head :rotz:

4000 minutes, that was probably just me!

Don't worry mate, they normally just blame the driver!

I've noticed that the default setting in Trust Delay Attribution is No Traincrew,

even when you've already rung in to control to tell them, what's actually going on.

Talking to some passenger drivers, they seem to get interrogated over every single minute.

At least our control know that NR play snooker with freight, we've got to have a Red, before we get a colour! It's especially prevalent, where the signallers are fresh from the classroom & don't quite understand why we don't accelerate as well as the passengers. Or if they let an extra car over a level crossing, but end up delaying more as we crawl over after being almost stopped.

lol

This was a case of some scroats nicking our signalling and telecomms cables from the trackside near Warrington. Most trains were cancelled or replaced by buses for the whole day.

Then at 11pm just over 30 mins after it had all been put through and tested guess what..... Yep they stole another section further down and everything went again.

At least it made the 12hr shift fly by. :D

Cheers

When I booked on today (yesterday) at Knottingley, I was due to catch a passenger train, to be told, they're running ok now, but line was in chaos earlier due to cable theft. Caught the passenger, got as far as Castleford & yup you guessed it, another cable theft, all stopped. Passengers all walked across to Castleford bus station. I had to be taxied to Doncaster.

Clearly the judges never experience this chaos day in day out & just see it as, a few metres of copper.
