Superb in China (LED rear lights)

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

I just mounted the led tail lights and licence plate led lights from cars-equipment.
They are ok, the led tail lights no need resistors, were coded at Skoda Service in Bucharest, cost me 15 euro. They are not the L&K OEM parts, I think they are the variant for China market. But, anyway, they looks fine, with good quality and change the image of the car back.

The licence plate lights are OEM parts, with no bulb error.

Regarding the codding I rely do not know, I had not permission to stay near to the technician. In 15 min was ready, I repeat - in an official Skoda Service.

Actually L&K OEMs are also Made in China. Your parts are also original, too. I'm gonna try LED platelights, Thanks.

Are you sure ? On the normal lights lamps is written "Made in Poland". I think  it is normal that Skoda  manufactures all parts for tail lights, inclusive the LED one in the same place.

Yes, I'm sure. I have had coding problems with the ones I bought from Shangai Chinese. so I decided to change them in official Skoda retailer. The parts they provided from the european products are exactly same with Made in China and European part number logo on them and exact match with the ones I have. Also no change in coding problem because I have a late 2010 build date BCM

They aren't 'cheap resistors' and as you've clearly read the entire thread you'll be aware of the lengths I've been to to find a more OEM solution.

If you've got nothing of use to contribute to this thread I'd suggest you post elsewhere.

My car is registered in may 2011. So it probably has the same uncodeable BCM? I don't want to install resistors behind the bumper to lose the broken bulb warning.

It is up to the BCM I have a MY11 bought November 2010 and unfortunately I have following first two responses. But you may be lucky.

Encoding VCDS Byte 18 = 04 Tailgate lights go out when openable NO Error message MFA Rear fog lamp Problem with parking light front (lights low) NO LED tailgate light up more when braking YES

Encoding VCDS Byte 18 = 15 Tailgate lights go out when openable NO Error message MFA diverse (5) Problem with parking light front (lights low) NO LED tailgate light up more when braking YES

also shine with this encoding the outer lights not at all!

With MJ2010 BCM to KW44/2009 (Software 0537, 0541)

Encoding VCDS Byte 18 = 04 Tailgate lights go out when openable NO Error message MFA NO Problem with parking light front (lights low) NO LED tailgate light up more when braking NO

Encoding VCDS Byte 18 = 15 Tailgate lights go out when openable NO Error message MFA NO Problem with parking light front (lights low) NO LED tailgate light up more when braking NO

With MJ2010 BCM from KW45/2009 (Software 0573 & 0575)

Encoding VCDS Byte 18 = 04 Tailgate lights go out when openable YES Error message MFA NO Problem with parking light front (lights low) YES LED tailgate light up more when braking NO

So the later model Superbs can be coded?

The earlier models with the older BCM's can't be coded?

Yes, exactly. In Service using original VAS there is no option to code it. But newer versions of BCM has it. I think I'll use resistors like you. Currently I'm using 7A as Byte 18 coding. Back LEDs are on  with the DRL's.  It has correct brightness and use all the leds in braking not just the upper leds. But it has a problem with signals blinkers are working OK. but inside indicators flash quickly as if there is a bulb error in signals. I'm planning to use resistors there too. I wish it was cheaper to change BCM :(

The only question in my mind is how do they exactly coding is in standard L&K...

To avoid all the problems and issues above is anyone going to try these if they are just  plug and play with no coding, errors, wiring cutting etc? And wil be easy to fit i assume

I see in your signature that you own a L&K SSE . Doesn't this model have a standard led tail lights ?
