They're fundamentally the same so it makes sense. I'd be interested in knowing what mine is making now it's been run in a bit.

Ah so the debate about oem ko4 engines making more power than ko3 engines with a ko4 turbo maybe down to innacurate rolling roads.

I think you are ultimately limited by how far you wish to bend the K03 engines rods.

Anyone tried K04 engine cams yet?

Yes thanks. :P

Sod cams...IF I do anything else to increase the power it will be water/meth injection and a fecking LSD to get the power down better!!

What's that got to do with rr results, i was pointing out a ko4 engine stage 2+ gave more or less same result as a revo 3 as there was originally a debate about bhp differences.

Fair enough but you can push an OEM K04 engine further as it has a stronger bottom end.

Yeh you COULD....but would you want to?

320bhp is plenty!!

Not me Harry I'm a wimp.;)

If I had an S3 and AWD then yeh sure...but FWD has its limitations and 320bhp is at the absolute limit IMO...much further and it would spoil the fantastic car that it is now :)

WTF:confused::confused:

Who is sat in a garden shed playing with laptops?

I think you might be mistaken into thinking that when people are logging with VCDS they are tinkering. They are not they are just logging what the car is doing and if necessary (in the case of REVO & the SPS Switch) altering boost, fueling and timing just to make the car safer.

For example when i had Stage 2+ first installed. Due to a problem (that we are yet to fathom but i personally believe is the code) no matter how high you set the timing on the RR none of the cylinders would receive any timing pull whatsoever. The car left the tuner's on Boost 8 Timing 7 Fuel 7. When i logged this on the road some of the cylinders where showing as high as -9 on timing pull which is dangerous for the car. So i wound the timing back which made the car safer, not faster.

I am currently (with the help of REVO and JKM) trying to get to the bottom of this and at the moment im running Boost 9 Timing 7 Fuel 6 as the car is able to handle it. Again this is not me tinkering in a garden shed. It's me logging the car, sending said logs to REVO, REVO telling me what settings to try.

Putting a car on a track is completely different to driving on a road. We all know BHP figures etc are Pub Talk. We just have discussion on this site about anything and everything and in this thread it's about wether or not a HPFP is worth it and how other peoples cars have done on a RR with/without the pump and with different mods.

I remember when the old Leon Cupra 1.8T 210bhp came out, and the press were ranting then that 200bhp was the ultimate limit for fwd

The vRS is great Tom and actually very good at putting the power down

But, it can be a handful if you wanna be aggressive with it, which I love as it makes it more involving to drive :D

I may or may not live near to Southwell and I may or may not be able to confirm the suitability of the local roads for a bit of a sprited drive. Allegedly :D

Oh the irony of a username

Who's the comedian ?

Having been a passenger briefly in Carl's car, I can certainly confirm that whoever does whatever to his car, it's absolutely awesome, so I totally agree with his comments above.

If everyone took my posts to heart, I'd have no friends on here at all - hopefully that's not the case :o

I'm sure you wouldn't be seen dead in it :P

Funnily enough I learned to drive down on Ossington airfield when I was 15.. There's definitely some good roads down that way, I don't think I'll ever keep up with the Atom but if you ever fancy stretching the Skoda's legs let me know

Ditto Ben i to learned to drive at ossington and around clumber with my dad in his mini clubman (god thats showing my age) its a pitty the airfields have gone, wouldnt mind streching the legs on my supermotard round there though, would like to see what its like compared to the atom if he is interested? give us a shout the next time your going out in it:D

Hmm if we're going out Atom chasing then I'd better bring the S2 instead!!

Your a bit of a dark horse S2 indeed, i would like to see that one day Ben. whats that got done to it then?:thumbup:

Haha! I'll bring it down when I get the chance mate, it's in a few more pieces than it should be at the moment (half way through a rebuild!).

It's got a few choice mods, I'll try to remember what they are...

Porsche 996 front brakes (can you see a theme emerging here?) with 323mm discs

KW V2 suspension

Lots of the interior removed

Audi S6 17" Avus wheels

Momo steering wheel (looks chavvy, serves a purpose!!)

Recaro Evo 8 seats (blue/black)

And as for the engine.. I'll let you know when I'm finished ;)

It's a bit of a sleeper, in dark blue and looks pretty standard. It surprises a few people for an L reg Audi estate anyway

Here's a pic of it all stickered up for the Scumball a couple of years back:

Not at all, but I suspect both would do a slightly better job than a scrabble-drive Skoda!!

For a FWD Car, you vRS seems to do a pretty good job to me, or is that just due to a smooth torque curve? ;)

Well it has been suggested that it's smoother than most ;):D:thumbup:

Still enjoying the Passat?

Is there any chance we can keep the bull**** out of the thread please? I don't want it locking as there's some informative stuff and there'll be more to add soon.
