  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

I applied Poorboy's Nattys Paste Wax White on the car, and 1 x Poorboy's Polish with Sealant and 1 x Poorboy's EX Sealant with Carnuba on the new Alloys. Everything is silky smooth now :) .

Applied CarPro CQuartz Flyby30 Rain repellant to all the glass exterior surfaces

Cleaned the Alloys and applied some Wolfs Nano Body Wrap Sealer to them

Very impressive shine and dead easy to use

I changed a sidelight and refilled my washer fluid. No dash lights and all bulb outside the car working again :D

Took it in to the garage to find out why it's misfiring... only had it 2 months :(

Private plates fitted along with Briskoda surrounds and Richbrook anti-theft screws :)

LCR splitter arrived along with a few stickers.

Soaked off a massive deposit some kind bird left me on my new paintwork!!

Bought more stuff for it. Realised some stuff I'd bought for it I don't like. Bought some replacements.

One of things I bought for it was one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Zip-up-Boot-Storage-Bag-Oil-Scraper-Anti-freeze-Octavia-Superb-Fabia-VRS-/151048259851?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item232b2d890b

Thought for £4 it was a nice little trinket for keeping spare bulbs and stuff in that I normally have floating around in the storage compartments in the boot.

Phoned round getting insurance quotes, my renewal was £660, after 4hours it's £490 from another broker, same provider though

Fitted my new plates. Not sure how long they'll last as the quality doesn't look great but if they delaminate etc I'll do what I should have done this time around and get pressed plates.

Also fitted my stubby aerial and filled my new goodie bag (see post above) with spare bulbs, first aid kit etc. Useful bag that tidies up the boot cubby hole perfectly.

Ran out of time to debadge the car :(

I had a stone chip on the spoiler which resulted in the lacquer lifting and flaking off...

So, I decided to purchase some Carbon Fibre vinyl wrap, rub down the affected area with some Wet and Dry and try something different...

Here is the finished result, what do we all think? :)

I like that! Cheaper than getting it to the body shop to get it resprayed etc!

Cheers mate! I decided to leave the sides blue, I think all black would've been too much and look a little out of place.

Looks great! Was it difficult to fit?

It wasn't too bad, I expected it to be a pain if I'm honest... I stuck it across the top first whilst attached to the tailgate, then unbolted the spoiler, took it indoors and teased the edges with a heatgun to avoid any unnecessary air bubbles and creases.

Had the Vrs just over a year now so gave it it's annual service today. Serviced it and put on to fixed interval when I got it and today it did actually come up with 'service now' on the display. Gave it some fresh blood with Mobil 1 'ESP' 5w30 and a Hengst filter (whoever designed the PD170 is a w****r for not having the oil filter housing cap a straight forward lift off job),Hengst fuel filter,Hengst pollen filter and a Bosch air filter.

sprayed some contact cleaner into the n/s/f lock as it hasnt been showing door open or locking at 15mph ish been out and it appears to have done the trick. Shall monitor it over te next week or so. :peek:

'Bug'er all! I went through to Volksfling at Biggar yesterday and today with the vw. I was pleased to see a few Skodas in the line up, a fantastic red mk1 Fabia vrs yesterday and a stunning white Octavia today  Now I'm nursing sunburn from yesterday lol. I think a couple of other folks from this forum were there too.

Took the vRS out today and gave it it's first ever 'sport' mode accelerate at full throttle. Oh boy does it go!

Polished my wheels then three coats of wax over them. Quite satisfying. Can't help but feel maintaining polished split rims on a daily probably works better if you're single though.

Cleaned it. Polishing tomorrow followed by a wax. Semi-debadged the rear - going to see how I like it with just the vRS badge for a bit.

Finished spraying up my spare grille and stuck the new badge on that ready for next weekend which is going to involve fitting it, fitting my new black 'Its a Skoda. Honest' sticker if it arrives in time and painting the hubs black to go with the wheels which will have been freshly powdercoated in black by then.

So today has basically consisted of removing colour from my car and preparing for more BLAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!

Cleaning my Zeniths as usual. They,re a swine to keep clean :(

Gave the car her first clean today - should have been this clean when I picked her up from the dealer... But that's another story!!

Have no problem with mine. I just never clean the car

Thought I'd do a brake fluid change today while in the 'service the car' mood and came across a problem I've never encountered before on any of my previous cars. I couldn't crack open either of the rear caliper nipples. It got to the stage that I knew if I tried harder they were going to break off. In the end I undid the nut that connects the brake line into the caliper and bled them that way (2 man method obviously). Fronts were fine but it suggests to me that considering this car has had 2 previous brake fluid changes done in Skoda dealerships (according to service history) that neither have bled the calipers, certainly not the rears.
