  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Cleaned out the front wheel arch , took of Front Mudflaps . Mega lot of mud and junk in there . Cleaned it all out , sprayed with Waxoil , fitted it all back . Oh and then a wash and polish , now safe in the garage till the morning .

I thrashed the granny out of mine. But thats about it.

Realised the aircon doesn't work...

Flippin heck Rob, that looks ace!

Picked the car up from the body shop yesterday and just cleaned all the rubbish off the outside and inside when it started raining. Will polish and wax it later in the week. So, decided to jump into the passenger seat and fit my Columbus. It looks very nice!

Washed, polished and wheel wax applied. Going to bucket down tomorrow apparently.

Spent 15 hours this weekend cleaning mine! Still covered in swirls. Need a DA me thinks!

Sorted, or at least relieved, a squeaking rear right brake. Got a new rear right bearing fitted during the week (thanks lads) but the brake started squeaking really loudly after that. Jacked up the car and noticed a slight wobble on the disk, thought there was maybe something between the disk and hub stopping everything sitting nice and flat. Removed the caliper and pads and moved the disk out as much as possible then scraped the inside face of the disk that mates with the hub - seemed to be some muck there and blew that out as much as possible. Used the wheel screws to nip up the disk and check again - still some distortion there, but better than before, so will need to get the disk off properly - probably needs replacing really, but I can see how the lower caliper holder screw (one with the M14 spline) will be a pain to loosen and tighten again - can't get the car high enough to get decent leverage with my jack and stands. Anyway, removed the pads (noting which was inner and outer) and chamfered off the edges of the pads and refitted them. Re-assembled it and careful test drive, ok just now, brake not heating up and no squeaking. Still need to get new disks and pads sorted out at the back as soon as possible. I had a little chuckle to myself when I saw the VW AUDI logos on the hub parts though ;-)

Took the dog to the opthalmic specialist for his 6 monthly check up. "WD-40'D" the tailgate hinges and struts as there was an annoying squeak when you opened the boot. Driven to work for my 4th night shift.

Passed its MOT yesterday and had the brake fluid changed for ATE Super Blue DOT4. Oil change, elephant mod and a good clean at the weekend!

changed the number plate bulbs for LEDs and disabled the canbus detection for them in VCDS. VERY BRIGHT lights now

You had loads left! Think my best effort has been about 10-15 miles with it reading zero :D

For Bolero and SD card, do you not use the Bolero card utility that was on one of the threads here. Makes that process really easy and does help with card access speeds. I'll find you a link later if you're not sure what I'm on about!

Gave it a quick one over before work, noticed some dodgy marks or paint on the rear bumper. Looks like it's been reversed into and the plastic cracked, no paint burst, just some kinda stress cracks. Annoying :(.

Then drove several laps of the city centre, yet again, dropping off some hot food to hungry peoples.
