What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Polished, waxed and installed my vent surround and other trim bits  . Well chuffed with how they came out. Now to do the other vent surrounds and pieces. Not sure what to do about heater control surround though, don't want to loose the illumination, but me masking it up will end up looking sloppy as it's so wee and fiddly.

Looks good. Maybe do the bit above the stereo and the storage underneath to get the squared off shiny look. B)

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Cheers :). Just finished sanding the above bit down. Don't fancy wrestling the headunit out again to get the cubby out, will do it if I change it, third car this cage+unit has been in, so getting a bit worse for wear

Washed, polished and sealed- again. Got loads of light scratches on the roof where are they coming from???? Got a good routine-2 bucket, decent clean mitt but still they keep appearing!! Any ideas?

Any houses near you got cats that prowl the area ? Bonnet of my previous Octy had loads of small scratches as the cats decided that it was a good lookout post when I returned home late on in the evenings as it was warm.

Some garlic powder around the area of the car will deter cats.

Smithy - what's your drying process?

Left it in the garage and took the bike again to work :sun: as the weather is nice - good for my waistline, the environment and saves wear and tear on it.

Drove it to Southampton to get my replacement dubmeister rear numberplate (someone nicked it a few weeks back) and I fitted it with a new surround when I got home

Wardy- use the auto glym synthetic shammy thing loads better than a real one, I'm thinking of using the waffle towel instead. As for cats I'm not sure, there more long straight scratches than cat ones I think

That could be your issue then, I'm pretty certain. Get a good quality drying towel and throw the shammy in the bin :)

I like these ones from Polished Bliss: http://goo.gl/7T5Px - but similar quality products are available from other places online - Elite Car Care, Clean Your Car etc.

Ordered HIDs and blue vision side lights for it

Attempted to remove my EGR valve for a clean, dropped torx key, removed undertray to retrieve, put undertray back on, closed the bonnet and gave up to make a brew.

Left it in the garage at home again and took to bike to work. It has been 5 days since I last drove it :sun: rain due next week so it will come out again as I don't do cycling to work in the rain - too uncomfortable.

gave her a rest after driving 1750 miles over the weekend

Got my coilovers fitted! :)

Got no pics yet as the back needs some slight adjustment to go down some more.

In another country thinking about my vRS, miss it but will be back to drive tomorrow :)

Enjoyed the benifits of running my Octavia vRS on Tesco Momentum 99 Fuel

Decided to sell it to buy a 7 Seater

Parked it next to an Ampera and it got worried by the looks of things, but at present I can't afford one so it's safe.

Tried a new gadget on it! Somehow felt I was on the set of TISWAS, with so much foam everywhere
