  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

I fitted a Jabbasport filter in a box thing

Washed polished and sealed, managed it Inbetween showers! Banged the old bolero on eBay and I'm trying to source some eibach lowering springs for the octy, all in all a busy day!

Gave it a good wash. Nice and shiny now until it rains again :-/

Glass cleaner will break down your wax

Autoglym fast glass won't, used it loads of times and its ok. Also works on insect remains

Realised my car has now done over 80k whilst filling up

Fitted 312mm brakes with help from one of my brothers. :)

Will need new discs and pads soon but should hopefully last for a month or 2.

Did the dodgy paintwork myself and isn't too bad but i know it could be better.

Drove it for the first time in a week. The smell of sick has dissipated :)

It passed its WOF (MOT) with no issues. Classic comment was "Your front tyres are legal but they're not safe". NZ tyre laws FTW.

A good trick someone posted on the forums a while ago, is to use an old auxiliary drive belt cut up, in conjunction with appropriately sized wire rope grips. I did it on my old Favorit, worked a treat and MOT tester was happy with it.

Many thanks, great idea, and useful since I noticed yesterday that I need to order a new belt. Got the oil and filter changed without getting too wet in the showery weather at least. Even cleared some more space in the garage for when the Estelle 120L arrives next week :)

Did a few things on the Fabia is its going back on the road for a little while. De stickered, fitted the Octavia handles I had spare, fitted the head unit that I had bought for the Ibiza. Going to be a bit more work soon though. Paint is coming off rear arches and has rusted (shoddy previous repair work many moons ago) so will take it all back, treat and probably just red oxide it and leave it.

Head unit in, will be repainting interior bits at some point in the near future.

The one permitted sticker (unless I can find an original Autocar car of the year 20Y00/2001 kicking about lol)

Just found a new Depo headlamp to in my loft/parts dept, get another and can swap the green ones over as they are pretty marked up and well, green.

Got it filthy dirty after having earlier given it a good clean; dual carriageway, heavy traffic and heavy rain...

Also noteworthy my Fabia has been sat for 5 months on the drive and not move an inch. Started up on the button :)

I let the wife drive the car...... On her own

Took a few bits off and gave it a good wash. Result: 4e90e613-cc2c-0c83.jpg

Now nothing for a long time. Got made redundant today..

Took it to be plugged in at a friend's garage - discovered PAS sensor is fubared, drove 60 miles in it and nicked the led reg plate bulbs from my mum's polo and put them in the Fabia :)

Looked at it through the lounge window as the rain punished the LSP applied yesterday :rain:

Admired the beading of the autoglym hd wax applied over the weekend.

Also received the fitting bits for my roofbars, and some Octavia door handles... In black magic. Anyone in the Sussex area want to help fit them? Haha

After work in an unusual spell of dry weather I washed the Octy and applied a coat of Dodo Juice Rain Forest Rub (one of the easiest on / off waxes I own) plus re-sealed my windscreen with Carlack 68 screen sealant. Just as I finished it came on to rain and did it rain, perfect timing :)

Fitted the roofbars and top box. Few issues but I have a Dr. Emel and I'm not afraid to use it.

Hopefully the sharkfin will arrive soon and that will cure half the issue, but still need to move the box forward so the boot doesn't hit the back of it...

Also fitted the rear door handles. Easier than expected tbh, fronts could be a whole different ballgame...

Not today but yesterday mine was at Ikea's *shudder* still get a surprise to the stuff it can take.

Two seater sofa, chest of draws, two cupboards and one wall mounted cupboard. Boot door slightly open and had to be strapped down but a lot of stuff taken with stuff room left.

Carlack 68, what's it like? Use rainx myself and been recommended mer stuff but was awful, really difficult to get off.

Drove it to work this morning whilst rocking out to AC~DC

Took it, and the winter rims and tyres, to the fitters for the latter to be turned into wheels.

Then took it, SWMBO and young goats to Costco (via a nice play park, we're not cruel). Glad we have an estate, that's all I can say about that.

I've just done my duty
