What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Led sidelights, which strangely show no warning lights on the dash, unlike on my punto...

Looked into led indicators, but the silvatecs work better... Odd.

18 month runtime for an LED bulb isn't good at all is it?

No!!

SWMBO overtook me the other day in my car (I was in the truck) and I thought to myself "they look ****e!" they certainly were brighter when I fitted them, but now they were almost a true 'chav' blue.... they had to go quickly!

This is how bad they had gone (LED on the left ... it is barely visible in bright daylight, Cree on the right)

Blimey - not good at all!

(missed a plate blank on the last pic BTW :))

Showing it blank here (I edited it on Photobucket this time rather than uploading an edited photo, so it may of just taken a few mins for the edit to be visible?)

It also shows blank on on SWMBO's PC that is not logged into Briskoda :wonder:

Yep, sorted this end now after a refresh.

Fitted the OEM bluetooth kit I got from "Eddie-NL" to the Octy. Typically I did it today while the site was down for server maint so had to try and remember what I could of the guides I looked at the other week but managed it all in a couple of hours without any problems.

Cheers

I am taking it to the dealers for a fourth time to let them change the breather system to try and stop it from depleting the oil stocks of the world!

Hope it works this time.

Drove SWMBO to MeadowHell yesterday, 1st run in 8 days and now its sat until Tuesday before I take it for its Service & MOT.

Keep thinking about selling it due to not needing 2 cars at the moment as SWMBO now runs her own business from home

Had the mk1 serviced at http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/index.phtml, and then when i got home painted the Rusty brake drums, with Hammorite Smooth Black. which looks very good.

Filled her up with a combo of 10 liters of e85 (e75) and 35 liters of 102 octane. Bloody thing goes like a rocket. I'm not quite sure if its a good idea with the MPI, but it seems to run fine.

Fitted an aerial booster to my headunit, spent an hour fighting to get it fully clipped in again. Had to remove glovebox and centre airvents to get my hands in to clear the cables. Also managed to damage the clips that hold the face in place. Guess I was needing a new one anyway, but this still works for now.

Fitted the sharkfin. As the connector was different I had to run a new aerial cable through the car. Mission!

Remember Apollo 13...

1970 Apollo 13 in Trouble

An oxygen tank exploded on Apollo 13, causing the shuttle to lose electricity. The lunar mission was aborted as NASA scrambled to bring the astronauts home safely. Astronauts James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert and Fred W. Haise successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean April 17, 1970.

Got cracking with removing the loud and rusty exhaust from my 120L Estelle.

Took ages of removing other things to finally get off the manifold nuts because the studs and nuts holding the exhaust pipe to the manifold were totally siezed!

After messing about for an hour I had to jack the car up to make the exhaust and manifold clear underneath, but finally could get a better angle to tackle the exhaust flange nuts. Sadly one stud is broken but with a good 10mm clear to aid removal, another is bent and the third is fine.

Off to the agricultural engineers in the village tomorrow methinks.

Fitted a new front badge, not sure I like it yet.

Not today but bought and fitted a new Blackvue recorder and loving it so far. Well worth the money, though i'm finding myself recording almost every journey now. :D

Surely that is the point of them John, you record EVERY journey, then if you need the video proof you download it onto your computer, eventually it will get over written anyway.

Cleaned the ASV/EGR only took pic of the ASV as by the time I was f'ing about trying to take off the EGR I was getting seriously ****ed off with everything. De cocked and polished all the tarnish with auto sol, sorry no pics of that either.

The ASV, the EGR was 10x worse, nasty design!
