I bet the vRS will actually look really good! I hope they let us order it in some lairy launch colour, maybe they should steal some of Lamborghinis paints.

i found these pictures of the facelift.

That doesn't really look any different than the current version apart from the front bumper? The headlamps look the same, unless it's just the angle the photograph was taken.

James, if you look at the first picture I posted the facelifted fabia is being followed by a pre facelift one. You can see the grill design differences, and the bumper differences. They are small and subtle changes.

I would say that is an improvement! Never have been sold on the fabia2. Now if only they put a DSG in it with the 1.2TSi or 1.4TSi I think Mr Skoda will most likely be gettin another sale!

I think you will get both!

I think racing green will be one of the colours like the Fabia S2000 rally cars, hopefully race blue too plus the usual vRS colours.

I am also expecting it to be available with white or silver roof, and maybe choice of white or silver alloys too ;)

S2000 arches ftw :)

Sorry! I meant the FR - The vRS will likely be the same spec level as the FR if it has any hope of under cutting it on price!

Mk5 Polo? Isn't it up to Mk8 now? Mk5 is 6N2 chassis (the one with the 1.6 16v GTI). But I did not realise they had a 1.2 derv...

Polos now up to Mk5, not 8!

Mk1 then Mk1F

Mk2 (breadvan) then Mk2F (rounded breadvan)

Mk3 (the dumpy ones from about 95) Mk3F (bigger lights)

Mk4 (the hideous twin headlamp one) Mk4F (last one)

Mk5 the new one.

The F stands for facelift, and those are official VAG marks, only in the UK do VW people refer to M1 to Mk8s.

This is the UK...

So the Mk5 is the 6N2 chassis.

A Google Image search for "mk5 polo" will bring up lots like this:

my16V.jpg

Because it's a Mk5 Polo.

The twin round was a 9N (Mk6), and the last GTI was a 9N2 (Mk7).

:)

Thats a Mk3F, VW say so and they made it... like I said its a mistake to call it a Mk5.

If you say so.

This is the UK, and it's still known widely as a Mk5.

Am I being stupid, or does that Polo's reg plate make no sense? 01 plate, I thought the new system came in on 51?

So is the current Fabia a Mk3 or a Mk4?

:giggle:

It's a Mk2.

I agree that the Polo should only be on Mk5, but we all know the face-lifts as full on marks. For some reason?

Another photo of the facelift:

Is this the facelift???

Very unlikely source to see the picture but having seen her on Dragon's Den I wouldn't be surprised if it was! Note the front fog light arrangement, space for daytime Leds?

Sorry if there is some other post with this picture or if it was the concept car.

Nope... that appears to be a Suzuki Swift. Here's the very pic they've chopped:

Looks good though, hope the new one is coming out soon. My Fabia is at 50k now and I plan to change it in May. Have looked around and can't find a better combination of cheapness and reliability.

Erm... which part of my post didn't you read?

The picture on that daft bint's website is a Suzuki Swift with a badly Photoshopped Fabia Mk2 front end on it!

The picture I posted is the very same picture that they've based that Photoshop on!

Jesus! :swear:

Very sorry, must pay more attention in future.

Yes, yes you must!

I do hope that the 1.6CR is available around august time, can trade up from the clunky (but reliable) PD to something a little smoother

Almost certainly will be
