Sorry guys, unless something drastic changes I already know I wont make next Tuesday. I've got too much to do and an AGM to attend Tuesday night. I've taken my name off the list.

I'm actually en route north for a few days in Sheffield from Tuesday evening 26th so may leave a little earlier and try to stop off.

Am normally passing J28 at around 10.00-10.30pm but will drop by if I can tear myself away a bit sooner from the sun, sand and palm trees down south!

Looks like it's going to be a good meet!

Sorry to be missing this one, and JC in an Octavia too, Well done Jim :)

Working in Manchester next week, but may have to get to Mansfield via the Woodhead Pass just to make sure my new car handles properly :giggle:

Hope this is a good meet for you all, I would definately come if it were not for the fact my cars booked in for a cambelt and 40k service at Lincoln-vw on tuesday, if there is a meet in march ill pop along.

Apologies all, am still on the south coast right now so unlikely to make J28 before 10.30pm. Hope it goes well anyway.

Might get the chance again later in the spring, I'm up and down to Yorkshire a lot right now.

What was Oggy's phrase again? "You could just tell it would open up lovely"? (with the visual aid of the accompanying hand gesture)

Classic

I don't think I've ever seen our Oggy so expressive - have to make sure he brings his camera to the next meet to show us the evidence

And what is this term 'munter' ??? Is it a Yorkshire word ???

It was that Notts water, Its strong stuff :D As for the evidence, sorry, but I was too busy admiring the view to think about photography :giggle:

Nice to put some faces to some names, and thanks to wega3k for trying the latest beta of VCDS on my car, shame it doesn't appear to be quite ready for use on a FaceLifted VRS...

Can confirm that the car handles absolutely fine when traversing the Woodhead Pass

And what is this term 'munter' ??? Is it a Yorkshire word ???

As I'm originally from the Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire and hadn't heard that before either, I thought I'd better look it up.

Here's some examples:-

1. Very very ugly person, the next step up from being a minger, who is just ugly

2. Most often used to describe an incredibly unattractive female who you wouldn't touch with a shi**y stick.

3. A particularly ugly young lady. Can also be used as a verb, see example. She's a bit of a munter. She munts for England. She's so ugly, she'd get gold everytime if munting was an Olympic sport.

4. A girl unblessed by the beauty fairy. "Oh my god! did you see the right munter Dan picked up last night"

5. Someone who is completely wasted on one or all of the following drugs; Ecstasy Speed/Amphetamines Magic Mushrooms, LSD, Poppers Ketamine or Cocaine, usually in combination with copious quantities of alcohol. Commonly displays symptoms of sweating, dishevelledness, gnawing of the inside of the cheeks, gurning (often without realising it), inability to focus, barely capable/ incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together. Calling someone a munter can be used as an insult, or perversely as a druggy term of endearment amongst fellow wasters

Who says you can't learn anything from going to Briskoda meets
