Candy White for vRS - Cost Option?

Featured Replies

Looking at replacing my 57 vRS and quite keen on an estate in vRS in White (hope I won't regret it!) Can anyone tell me if it is a solid paint option (i.e. cost free)

Also what options are "a must" on a white vRS estate?

Thanks to all as always.. Where are you vRSStu?

Cheers

Mark

Mark, I've got a candy white fl vRS hatch and can confirm that the paint is a solid colour at no cost. I had reservations initially about the colour but can confirm it looks great and I think it's easily the best colour (with black wheels like mine).

Can't speak for the estate but on my hatch I ordered rear parking sensors (which I don't know how I've done without before), tow-bar prep, auto lights, maxidot, MDI and spare wheel (which I needed yesterday for the first time in 10+ years). I basically went for the 'cheaper' options as things like leather and xenons are mega-expensive.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, makes me feel a bit more confident about the white over the anthracite grey, I currently have the rear parking sensors, maxidot, spare (standard when I bought mine), and auto lights. Would want all apart from the auto lights also keen on heated front seats, sunset glass and variable boot floor (I believe this makes loading easier?)

I would love the DSG and bluetooth but looks a little out of my price range and I'm really quite happy with the 6 speed gear box. I will miss the bluetooth though, What retro fit options do I have on the maxidot with the FL model? would I still be able to control the phone/ address book from the stalk?

Sorry lots of questions here but keen to order before the Vat offer ends.

I went for White as well. picking it up on Saturday. Canna wait

Not strictly "a must" but certainly worthwhile at this time of year as you'll be needing to use it a lot!

Loving that... I am a little concerned as I've not owned a white car since my very first motor (1983 VW Golf) Still washing the motor counts as exercise in my eyes!

Am now favouring the DSG (Only as I love gadgets and the DTD quote looks favourable)

Any more thoughts. By the way showed the antracite grey to a couple of mates and they we not too impressed (they prefer the race blue I currently own).

Mine is a candy white 2.0CR DSG estate, looks ace! Its dirty already after nearly 600 miles! And its a free colour!!

As for washing it I would say it shows up dirt no more than my fabia vRS did in black.

Is there any argument over the quality of the finish with white?

I ordered white even when it wasn't a UK colour! My two essential options are: rear parking sensors and Xenons. I would never be without either again. vRStu now runs an Audi S3 (in white!) by the way. But I thimk he drops in on Briski from time to time.

Mine seems fine I've not found any problems. But I've read that VW has had issues with golfs in white having black specs and other weird marks.

another vote for sunset glass looks brill!

The white finish on mine is lovely and hoping will not show scuff marks, etc. so readily as my previous vRS (mk1) - looked great in black but would show up every single mark even though I was paranoid where I always parked it !

You will not be disappointed with white !

Thanks to you all for the comments, Definitely going for sunset glass with the standard roof rails. Just shopping around at the moment trying to get a DTD price match (and sort out my existing skoda solutions finance).

i have a white hartch on order, had a white Focus ST and a couple of blacks(both Metallic, a Corsa VXR and Jeep SRT8!) - the white is FAR easier to keep, yeah the black looks great when its all glossy and wet looking but it shows EVERY mark! Silver is by far the best colour for hiding dirt but white really isnt as bad as people think - and it looks ace!

if i was to trade mine in it would be for a candy white vRS TSI, looks ace,

plus there is only one thing that would offend a nice powerful BMW driver more than being spanked by a skoda, and thats being spanked by a skoda estate.

mines red but im getting it wrapped in white for a year or so, its cheap option and it will protect my paint work to :~0 white is the new craze, slowly coming is the matt black finish on the sports cars but im not a fan yet

Another thing I've noticed is the number of cars that fly up behind me on the motorway and suddenly slow down - either they want to take a closer look at my white vRS or they think I'm the plod !!

how much is it to wrap your car in white or other colours for that matter. Id love matt black, cool as fook. any links etc and do they do the insides of the doors or would you have to put up with seeing the original colour on your door frames everytime you open the door

Anthracite grey would be my choice. The last one was that and it hardly showed the dirt but a white one this weather will provide plenty of exercise and you'll go through a mitt or two...

Two words: stone chips.

Black cars show every stone chip especially if the primer is grey or White.

I'm hoping my White vRS won't show any unless the gits have used a black primer. :)

What do people make of the variable boot floor, is it worth having in the estate? any links to pics most welcome... any more experiences of owning a white car?

good point well made!

I've ordered a white vrs cr hatch, my balck fabia vrs is a nightmare. Hate it, would never have a black car again as it shows every little mark. The dealers said i'd kept it well mind when i took it in for px. It just shows different people stds!!

Hate too tell you but white is just as bad, especially stone chips. Having had both colours. Not sure if skoda are the same, but most cars in white have a primer of grey, which once chipped shows up like mad and personally did my head in! :'(

have to say the white cars I've had in the past have hid the marks well, but this was on older cars so the paint might be different.

Variable boot if no-one else post a picture I will take some of it.
