Anglesey Lines

Hopefully this works.

Well I just tried it to see if they are right  and this bloody electric shed jammed on me! Had to switch it off and start again!

Never been too sure about the line coming into the hairpin

Richard Peacock told me to stay over to the right, and take a tight line through it. I think he can claim to know a little bit about the circuit!

When ever I was on the bike around there it made sod all difference in my opinion in fact it was a great place to take people on the brakes. The only worry is people not expecting you to be there and then cutting across your bow, but shouldnt happen in the car.

Incidently one of the weekends i ran there, we ran the circuit clockwise on the one day and anticlock on the next. Completely different circuit and the hairpin opens up so nicely. Jonny said that the wall after school is a little scarey in a car, i thought they did enough with the bails of hay but there we go.

One week and one day to go.....

You can reel em off for me Andy. Would be interested to try a few new lines if they clash with what I was taught by their instuctor 5 yrs ago.

Never seen anyone take the hairpin from the far right of the approach to it Atom. Think I'll try it to see what it's like, praps just once ;) ...always willing to learn.

Bit concerned as you said though, that you may end up with other users thinking you are moving over to let them past, and consequently get cut up.

Atom,

you forgot overtakingis with consent only and only to the left.... unless you plan on going counter clockwise this makes it difficult to dive through on the brakes at the hairpin......

Im not suggesting that you use this as an overtaking method, I am suggesting that you try and see whether it works as a genuine racing line, speed is low and the exit is weird

Its been a while since ive been there but I kid you not!

:D i know!
:D i know!

What is it you know?

Im curious now!

i know very little...

Jon, Paul's Octy is about 1 second per lap slow than your old Atom was (50s v 49s) :D

Doubt it, he'll be in a Badger challege-esque feeehicle for the day :D

As for the line round the hairpin, I've tried the stay right approach, made it too tight and you were later getting on the power than the "official" line. Good for a late bit of overtaking, but you then ended up trying to defend a bad position. Might be better on a bike than in a car though :D

Think you've hit the nail on the head there.

Anyone gets in my way...I'll just cut across the grass! :D

Does that mean I'll have to get out and rescue the exhaust?

Oh the badger challenge!

Its a great shame that that idea didn

What's up Colin? We are discussing the line to take through the hairpin at Anglesey

Atom's right, and don't try to blast it round either, the aiming point upon exit is the end of the kerb on the inside of the hairpin, sacrifice a bit of speed for a faster exit and this will also enable you to get your track position correct ready for the next left hander.

VERY tempting to welly it through though :D

Oh why are they losing that super section when they dig it up?

So hard to get it 100% right but a super challenge!

I cant remember the plan completely for the new circuit, but it looks fantastic :)

There is or was, a plan of it pinned up on the wall inside the graphic mans hut for us all to see...if he's there on the day. Work commences early next year apparently, and finally gets linked up to what will be left of the existing circuit at the last possible moment, to save disrupting the calendar.

Going to be 3 possible configurations when it's finished...apparently..so I was told.

Want them printing?

Thanks for that Andrew. Just goes to show, i've been getting some lines wrong over the last 5 years. A good read that I'll try and put into practice in just 7 day's time. Cheers.
