May I ask?

What does the FL vRS CR "remap" do to:

- BHP/Performance

- Economy

- The Skoda warranty

- What, if any, are the other advantages/disadvantages?

I have never had a car "mapped" before, thanks.

from what i gather from other guys, you would get in the region of 200Hp, and the difference only a 30Hp hike makes is bloody massive.

Fuel economy goes up provided you drive the same as previous.

Can the STS be used to remap the CR vRS yet?

Unfortunately not the CR yet no, it has not yet been released by the manufacturers of the tool.

A little slow here but can I ask what a 'STS' is? :dull:

Also I have the FL - VRS with TSI not TFSI what am I looking in the region of extra bhp?

Cheers

A self tuning system, basically a tool that will load/unload a map to/from the car.

Shark, what can i expect from 1.8TSi Scout on performance gain ;)

Hi Shark, I have a petrol 1.6 multifuel (petrol/ethanol). Is it possible to gain something with a remap?.

If so I would be interested in the deal.

Thanks in advance.

Id say between 240-255Hp realistically is what you would be looking at, with a gain of 70-80Ibft of torque. of course you could always go to a pants set of rollers and make that gain 60-70Hp

The STS is "Self Tuning System" - a device that enables you to upload the map yourself and switch between standard, modified and immobilised at the touch of a button.

Our 2.0TSI remap has been independently rolling roaded at 263bhp by nokiauk, you can see his post here: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/149680-my-experience-fl-octavia-vrs-20-tsi-sts-remap/

Thanks for your interest, but unfortunately the gains would be extremely minimal and therefore it's something we wouldn't do. How about something for your B5? From the output in your signature I guess it is perhaps already modified?

THX for your answer, yes the B5 is already modified with one external chip, I would prefer a remap but unfortunately this car has been sleeping for 3 years in a garage and still have no plans to use it again (long history emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif ).

Also I will discard the remap for my Octy.

Anyway if I start using my B5 again I will contact u for a decent remap.

THX.

Typical. I go out for the day and miss an offer...

Oh well, life's a b!tch and then you die...

Hoping there will be a STS for the 2.0CR in the not so near future! B)

I'm mystified over how this might be possible, the latest CR vRS have the ECU locked down with AES encryption I believe?

  • Author

The encryption is RSA1024 but that isn't the problem, as all MED/EDC17 have this encryption and the earlier ones were mappable. The newer ones have an encrypted processor which haven't yet been cracked, but as with everything, it will be eventually.

Is it possible to have a FL CR170 mapped yet?

I believe so, but the ECU has to come out of the car...

Yes it is possible, but the ECU is encrypted and therefore needs to come out to do the job. We can do it if you'd like it to be done though :)

I do want it done 170hp is less than my bike at the rear wheel so if i ever get the car (ordered 15th of feb) how many miles do you suggest I do before it's mapped? Also what's the down side of having to take the ECU out of the car to map it. I'm guessing this might void the warranty?

does the ecu have to come out for thre octy FL TSI also? does that mean the STS cannot be used? Ta

People do bring brand new cars to us and it's no problem at all, but I would suggest putting 1,000 miles or so on the car just to iron out any possible teething problems. That's what I would do if it was my own car :)
