am from newcastle and tyre spot at my end are removeing the dpf and makeing a straight thru pipe for £50 cant ask for a better deal then thats , also mas performance are doing my remap and dpf removal software update for £180 so in total £230 hope this helps

Our price for proven working DPF removal is £669 including VAT.

There are several companies claiming to be able to do this and then finding out it's not as simple as they thought..

You may want to postpone it until the revisions to the MOT test are clarified. I've been told by a VOSA representative that missing emissions equipment will be a fail, regardless of the emissions test result.

Which is why we remove the internals from the DPF rather than taking it off and replacing it with a straight pipe

Any visable signs that the internals have been removed?

No, we weld the side closest to the engine to eliminate that.

Would you expect a car to pass emmisions testing with the internals removed?

Diesels are not subject to emissions testing in the UK, only smoke testing. The car will pass an MOT with the DPF removed.

Great, thanks.

Any dyno graphs showing the power/torque pre/post DPF & remap?

Smoke limits are getting reduced for turbo diesels registered after 01/07/08 from July this year, down from 3.5/m to 1.5/m. Will a car with a removed DPF go as low as 1.5/m?

Enjoying this topic. Interesting reading!

I will check tomorrow

Given that not every diesel car sold since then has a DPF, I would fully expect so. I am happy to test the next one we have in.

Any luck with the graphs?

How much torque can the clutch take in the 170pd engine?

How much torque can the clutch take in the 170pd engine?

Mine has nearly 340 lb ft with no slippage and I've driven about 6000 miles since I had mine done. :)

Hi Ben, whats the cost of the DPF removal and software tweak on my CR170 with one of your sublime maps already generously applied!!

I am not disputing your claims Ben but I pulled out of the Group buy as I wanted to go the hole hog with a DPF removal and map but I was a bit concerned about the possible MOT regulations that are coming up.

If, and a big if, the regulations state that you must have a DPF, if fitted, the car will pass it's MOT. If it is found that the DPF has been "Doctored" would you refit and remap at your cost??

As I say I'm not disputing your claims but you must be pretty confident

At the time of writing (4 months ago) a car with it's DPF removed will pass an MOT. It still will now.

It is impossible to know what might happen in the future.

If you decide to get your DPF removed then that's up to you. Would we refit the DPF and remap back at our cost? No. If you asked a garage to fit a decat pipe to your car would you expect the garage that fitted it to return it to standard every year at their cost?

Ben, has there been any further development in getting a DPF delete pipe for the CR engine?

It would be interesting to know if there is anyone in the South East that can do it actually. Our Superb (09 plate) needs it done - the other half is so fed up with it might be sold if we can't get it done!

Whatever you decide, a 09 plate car will need to be MOT'd next year, and with the MOT changes in the current state any car fitted with a DPF when new, must have a working DPF fitted when its MOT'd otherwise it will fail. Simply putting it back in is not an option, as to remove it the car must be remapped to map out the DPF, putting it back in will cause the CEL light to come on which it looks likely will also cause an MOT failure next year.

I dont see why people have issues with DPF's. My Superb PD140 DSG DPF does a 1 mile each way daily commute and I have never had any DPF problems in 18 months of owning the car.
