No, you're right. It's one of the things we're not allowed in the UK :(

Remember this is the current price. The current government may increase VAT to 19 or 20% to pay for the decrease last year.

If vat goes up to 20% it will make just over £300 difference. In the Skoda brochure the RRP is £15020 and OTR is £15700. What is the £680? There is £125 RFL, £125 showroom tax, £55 first reg. fee. That seems to be only £305.

All the other models seem to have the OTR charges at £555. Only the VRS has £680.

I said from a "DRIVERS" point, taking away "PRACTICALLITY" so extra doors, space and big boot etc....

your still comparing it to the wrong class. The new vRS should be compared to the Clio 200. Infact the fabia is only 3kg heavier (if you exclude the driver like Reno do) And if you do its over a grand cheaper.

Looks like skoda have made the fabia a hot hatch like the cupra just cheaper. Just add REVO and you have 215bhp and 170bhp per ton :) however the suspension will probably let the car down :( wonder how long it takes KW to bring out a club kit :)

edit. Looks like KW do, ok not club but v3 is close enough :)http://www.kw-suspension.co.uk/coilover/products.php?vid=671

So £1700 of "unofficial" warranty voiding options on top of the £15.7k will get you a nice little hot hatch :)

Isn't the extra money between the delivery charge to the dealers?

Oh quick question from reading the online broacher. Is the VRS supercharged and Turbo charged or just Turbo charged? Am i correct in thinking the rest of the TSI models are turbo online so is the vrs a special case or a miss print?

Ben

1.4's are super and turbocharged.

Is their any details regarding the suspension apart from "sports suspension"?

15mm lower isn't it?

The 1.4 TSI is Turbo and Supercharged. The 1.2 TSI is only Turbocharged. Both have a (water cooled) charge cooler.

Any details on the chargecooler? Like where it is located in the engine bay?

The reviews are coming thick 'n fast now.....here's another one :) Best write up so far! :)

Well that's what the missus, and the 18 yr old stepdaughter think. Apparently less cool even than the smoke bomb that is the MKI vrs. Looks like it's on stilts apparently. Like I say I kinda like the estate now, but you can say another Skoda is definitely off the cards, coz I took a MKII Octy VRS diesel for a test and that was absolutely gutless.

It must have been down on power as I went out in Beefy's Octy Vrs TDI DSG and that car went like stink. I like the look of the little car now I have seen it in flesh but i still think I would haggle and get a better deal on an Octy petrol vrs which has a bigger, less stressed engine. I'll be down the dealers to try this but the twin charged engine and DSG spells a lot of complexity. Who knows I might like it though and the estate would be a great little Q car. I'm not in the market for a new car for at least a year ( going abroad to study) so the fuss may have died down by then and I may be able to haggle a bit of that fairly steep £16k. I think Skoda will soon ditch the exeption from their offer scheme though. Call me a doom monger but I can't see this taking off like the original.

Nice to know the estate not only looks 100% better than the hatch, but it rides better and handles as well... got to be the winner for sure.

The vrs estate just looks very similar to a normal estate but with larger wheels, black wing mirrors and slightly differen lower section of rear bumper

A 1.2tsi 105 with dsg estate, with lowered -15mm springs and 17inch wheels would be nice.

I agree that would be nice, but a VRS estate would be uber nice

How does the polo gti manage to be 200kg lighter?.. also seems that aint getting as good reviews as the furb

Maybe i should order one?.... emoticon-0136-giggle.gif
